Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Finally the 2021 sets have appeared in Australian stores other than LEGO. Some chains have increased prices, but Kmart has kept prices very nicely low, and has a lot of stock.

These road plates were AU$22 (US$16.93) each, at regular price. I am glad that while expensive, Australian consumers aren't being ripped off compared to other countries, considering the added transport costs getting these products to Australia.

I need some sets to start my city: a bank, park, roads, museum... Do you have any suggestions?

Are you opposed to buying sets off of bricklink? You can get everything you want there.

I completely agree with Bricklink, while some older sets might be more expensive, you would have access to better sets, even getting the sticker sheets (if you want them) and parts separately would be good value and if you can find a large store on Bricklink which has all the parts you need, it could be quite straightforward.

The best bank was probably the 2011 set, 3661. It was a limited edition set itself, and now 10 years old, so it would be very expensive, but you could Bricklink the sticker sheet and get the parts separately. The parts were quite common so they shouldn't be too expensive or hard to find.

Considering prices other retailers were asking, I couldn't believe my luck.

Picked up the Shopping Street today (some good parts in there although not as good as the larger town centre set with the guide dog etc)

Connecting the tracks with new roads is not so harsh as I thought.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of that yet. Looks good. :)

I should go test that as well. :P

It does not look good at all. That 1 plate difference is ugly and hard to get rid off I think.

My comment was in regards to the combination of the rails with the new road plates. They have the same height, both are two plates high. As for combining the new road plates with buildings on baseplates, yeah, that difference is ugly and indeed hard to get rid off.

I found that set used here in Portugal, but I don't know if I'm going to buy or buy the 2017 one

I really hope coast guard returns this summer. I don't really count the beach patrol set as coast guard since it uses the hospital emblem.

I have seen some post somewhere here about the Volcano sub theme. I agree that it doesn’t have any animals that dwell around volcanoes.

Also, I am hoping for safari sub theme. Come on, we need elephants! It has been ages since 2003 (Orient Expedtion theme)! And add some zebra, giraffe, gazelle (with soft rubber similar to Harry Potter Patronus), lion (with mane), cheetah, hippo, new alligator mold, and....oh my gosh, so much to add!! Safari has so many aniamls there!

I hope that missing sets are a harbor and a boat, sadly we aren't going to have a Coast Guard subtheme

So... The 60278 Crooks Hideout must be March release then or... it is completly canceled. I read on stonewars, that it could be canceled and Lego simply forgot to update some Friends instructions.

Should I avoid feeling disappointed that there was no return of coast guard?

,,,,and wait a second....

ARE THEY REVIVING EXTREME TEAM?????????

Stunt has to be really good to persuade me, but count me in for Wildlife rescue.
And Ninjago goes for another Water/Island theme, could be interesting for some of us with amusement parks.

The interesting thin is that they are deviating from the usual rhythm quite a lot in 2021.

I do realize that there are no exploration sets in that list. Wildlife Rescue sounds more like saving animals and nature from pollution, death or extinction than exploration.
