MOC: Castle Beach Fire Department

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! This is my first post here, but I have been on the web for more than 12 yrs now! Some of you may recognize my work from either my webpage or my social media outlets, but in case you're not familiar; I'm Michael, and I love to build various fire apparatus! My fictional city is Castle Beach, which is modeled after Los Angeles. I will be showcasing some of my work below!

This first picture is arguably my most popular creation: Engine 15, a 2019 Seagrave Marauder II 75' Meanstick. The unique color scheme is due to the fact that its primary response area includes the airport, hence the vibrant colors.

Looking forward to meeting many of you in the future!

Cheers!

~Michael

Is the Seagrave Marauder a real fire appliance?

Yes it is! My model was based off a similar rig: https://seagrave.com/Our-Trucks/Aerials/Meanstick

What does Meanstick actually mean?

So Meanstick is the name of the aerial device. Seagrave is the name of the company. The cab is called the Marauder. Hope that helps!

The details on this truck are amazing!

Thank you very much! Functionality is one of my goals for any build! I will attach photos later of how all compartments open and can store equipment.

Think that last pic was just a thumbnail or something

This is great, added to my inspiration folder.

Amazing, I love the nose of this truck!

Great color scheme!

Thank you! Indeed! This is one of my favorite color schemes and is modeled after Los Angeles Fire Department’s airport scheme.

Awesome! Actually, I’ve been planning to build a medic bus sometime soon, but I haven’t finalized a design yet lol

Again, very nice work! You gotta try your hand with brush trucks, you can't go to wrong with a cab as good as this! XP (Ask me how I know, my eleventh brush is on the way ;P)

Your welcome! I saw snatches of those on your instagram. I much prefer them on a pickup chassis though ;) But those Type 3's look awesome! Ideally I'd like to have 4 Type 3's as wildlands and 4 SKEETER 6x6s as brush's in my department. Brush's and wildland's operate together in a sort of task force in my dept btw.
