Friedies Millennium Falcon Moc/Mod 2nd Edition

Hi Folks,

some weeks ago I presented my Millennium Falcon Moc here on this page.

...but after a while I wasn't completely satisfied with the endresult, so I broke it down (which wasn't easy) and began a rebuild.

The new version is larger and I tried to get the outer proportions more like the original Falcon, same with the the interior layout.

Length: 58 cm (75257: 44)

Width: 40 cm (32)

Hight: 14 (14)

Weight: 4,1 kg.

Looks pretty good nice interior!

However, the mandibles could definitely be improved, rather than using staggered bricks I'd suggest using hinges and plates to form a smooth singular faced angle.

...what you mean cocnerning the mandibles? Could you possibly post a pic with an example how to improve the look?

Hello, the mandibles is that section above in the screenshot. If you look at 75192 this section flows a lot better rather than being staggered and blocky.

Incredible job here, the tunnel padding and 4 man cockpit are the cherry on a very well iced cake! It’s a very complex and aesthetically pleasing MOD, I love it.

The accuracy given the scale is amazing. Great job! Regarding the mandibles, it's an easy fix. Check this http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=90654 but there are many examples around.

I love how bulky this is, definitely adds to the aesthetic. And the interior is amazing, looks similar to another MOC that I cant recall the name of.

Yea that is one of the ones I was thinking of. At this scale, you kind of have to make it a bit bulkier if you want all the details plus the interior. have you seen my Falcon? Its not as good as yours but it's decent

It's very decent indeed, I like the exterior very much.

Thanks. im getting the UCS version soon so i dont know if I should keep it built or tear it apart lol.

Probably you could use the parts to improve the UCS, add some more interior there. ;)

Yea good idea. but at the same time I want to have a Millennium Falcon at each scale so I can display them all in a gradient from smallest to biggest.
