[MOC] The march of the lion

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

In my previous build of Knights Kingdom John of Mayne is held as prisoner in the hideout of Cedric the Bull.

Cedric the Bull and his gang are preparing an attack on the Castle of King Leo.

King Leo has ordered to rescue John of Mayne.

Princess Storm has gathered some men and is marching through the forest.

Neat little scene.  I like the trees and the use of plates for the land.  Nice old school castle figs too.

Thanks! :classic:

It was not easy to build the trees. It contains a lot of bars and clips.

When you want to use force to attach a leaf, a branch will fall off.

I am glad that the trees worked out well.

Foliage is on point here, tree canopies are great in particular.  I'm not sure the trunks are as successful though as they're a little too mechanical-looking for me.  I've used the same pieces for trunks before and have either tried really hard to cover up most of the Technic pieces with leaves or have scrapped the idea in favor of another solution.  The low camera angle works well here; though, moving a couple of the bushes to the back so we can see more of the army column would probably be better.  I've received feedback myself about putting too many things in the foreground of an MOC too ; it's something I've got to constantly think about when building.

Thank you!

I know that if i wanted to see the entire army column, I have to remove some vegetation.

But I wanted to show a glimse of the army column to get a more forest feel. :classic:

Love the trees!  The leafy green at the top looks great, probably one of the better trees that I have seen in quite a while.  The whole scene is quite clean and well done.

Thanks! :classic:

The 'new' leaf part is in my opinion the worst plant part. I prefer the old leaves.

But I wanted to experiment with it to make other kind of trees.
