[TC18] Orange Cabrio

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

As just got the Corvette as a present and have quite a lot of time on hands due to the obvious, I've decided it's a perfect reason to take part in TC for the first time!

I have started to rebuild the car to convert it to a rear engine cabriolet - it's not going to be the corvette.

Until now I managed to do the back:

Working V8 fake engine, removed differential for more space, changed wheels to 49,5. (ligths/exhaust are not final yet)

Update:

New front steering to fit the 49,5 wheels on the front as well.

Have you considered ditching the 2x32039 and u-joints and just using a thin 1x2 or 1x3 mounted at chassis level in front of the wishbones? Looks like you have enough space without gaining too much toe-in.

That is a good idea, thanks! I checked and best combination is with the u-joints and a 1x3 thin liftarm

It look like you don't even need that. Just prolong the axle and ditch all the u-joints. It will also save quite some space at the top.

I have tried the versions vithout the u joints but I can't seem to find a good working mechanism:(

Update pictures:

- sides done with opening doors (scizors)

- seats

- windshield (just a draft for now)

- beginnings of front

I like the angles on the splitter and doors, any pics of the doors open?

The doors dont open sadly:( They sit tied under a funky angle held by a connector from the bottom and by the top of the rear fender
