A long, long time ago I started working on a micro scale Millennium Falcon. To begin with all I wanted to do was add detail to the Microfighter but I kept tinkering and before I knew it I had a growing collection of micro Star Wars freighters and fighters, and here they are!

Instructions for all these little builds are on my Rebrickable page.

1920x2304.jpg

Since this all started with that Falcon Microfighter the cockpit piece (a light blueish-grey 2x2 truncated cone) became my yardstick for scale. Luckily trans-black 1x1 slope pieces work as fighter cockpits at the same scale so all the ships are, and will continue to be, as close to scale with each other as I can manage, at least based on these pieces and whatever reference images I can gather from Google.

My latest (September 2020) micro starship is the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels. I only watched the show two years ago but fell in love with it straight away, I assumed it would be throwaway entertainment for kids but it quickly developed the characters and story with life and grit, plus the ships and space battles are so well done! Anyway, here she is, complete with interior and tiny detatchable Phantom.

Rather than carrying on doing new posts for each new ship I plan on adding them all here. All the instructions are on my Rebrickable page and there will be some photos of the real builds somewhere in this post, plus a few more on Flickr.

I’m having a lot of fun creating at micro scale, it’s quite fast and satisfying and makes good use of those tiny spare parts you always get with retail sets, so if you like what you see then why not have a go yourself! I hope you enjoy these little builds and thanks for stopping by :)

OMG, this Razor Crest is soooo cute!

Most impressive how you managed to build all those details in this scale, proportions are also great, awesome work!!! Thank you for providing the building manual.

@Midlife-crisis Haha thank you! Your build helped more than you know :) And you’re welcome, if you manage to cobble a micro Crest together I would love to see it next to your MOC.

@Midlife-crisis Wow, that puts your ship in perspective for me, it’s a lot bigger than I thought! Thanks for the photo, glad you liked the micro but yours is a stunner, there’s no comparison. I can’t wait to see yours with the Mandalorian and the Child inside!

Really good work on these ships. I'd like to use the Slave 1 for my upcoming Empire Strikes Back Series. Do I have your permission to use it? (I will give you credit for sure)

Just a quick post to show this off.

I’d been staying away from the Animation tab in the Studio render menu, assuming my creaky old PC would just spend endless days achieving very little, and then I read someone talking about reducing the samples. 32 was the magic number to get this done in just a few hours.

And @Airking, you’re very welcome and I’m glad you like it :)

Tensegrity MOCs seem to be a thing at the moment, so I tried to incorporate my Slave 1 into the floating frame. You can’t see the supporting string clearly, maybe a B-Wing, STAP or tiny Bespin, would work better for that, but the wobble is very satisfying!

Great models. I don't understand why Lego doesn't believe in microscale aside special occasions, a consistent line of microsets like yours or related to iconic models of classic themes could be a gold mine, entry-level prices, great visibility in bookshelf dimension, both nostalgic fans' and new customers' potential markets. Win-win for everyone.

This is my first attempt at a diorama - Escape from Jakku, my favourite scene from the whole saga! I’m terrible at building settings so definitely need some practice, any tips or suggestions would be very welcome and I hope you like it.

In the mean time I’ve made my Micro Millennium Falcon instructions free as a little Star Wars day pressie, May the Fourth be with you!

Since this seems to be the year of the clones I thought it was time to jump down my to-do list to some prequel ships, so here are my micro Republic Gunship, Naboo N1 and Vulture Droid!

As before I’ve put instructions up on Rebrickable:
https://rebrickable.com/users/ron_mcphatty/mocs/

1280x1019.jpg

This little Gunship has been in the works for a long time, the front end has given me so much trouble that I’ve been avoiding tackling it.

1280x941.jpg
I’m fairly happy with it now, the overall shape seems to work and despite a few one-stud connections the wings are strong enough.

I’ve had these Naboo N1 and Vulture Droid Starfighters finished for some time, just a couple of pieces that didn’t exist held held me back!1280x726.jpg
Last year I settled on a couple of 1x2 curved slopes with notches on the sides of the N1, in yellow, and thanks to the Speed Champions Audi Quattro they’re now real! Not the cheapest but hopefully more end up on BrickLink to bring the cost down.1280x625.jpg
The Vulture Droid was nice and simple, I’ve also done a version in blues and greys which I’ll combine with some Seperatist Starfighters in the near future.

I’m also nearly finished with some Republic Starfighters, just a few kinks left to work out.

Separatist Starfighters this time, including another Vulture Droid, Hyena Bomber; Tri-Fighter and General Grievous’s Soulless One. They were a quick project which I’ll probably need to revisit, Soulless One, but I want to crack in with documenting my TIE MODs and taking some photos of micros so I can tidy up this post! Enjoy :)

All of these micros are so good, @mcphatty! They look just as good or better than the sets. I am not much into microscale building, but this makes me want to give it a try!

Micro Home One (a tiny set 7754) - May 2020

1920x1280.jpg

I threw this together this morning in a few hours, I’ve longed after this set and finally have a desk-friendly version for real! If anyone has any suggestions for miniaturised playsets with vehicles I’d be happy to give them a try, I’m terrible at lego dioramas so this kind of this will be good practice :)
