Time to jump in this contest.
I want to do a 4 wheel drive and steered car.
I already have a chassis prototype :

For now, that's it, it was really challenging to get a driven and steered setup that is 15L large

I plan to add a V10 engine parallel to the wheels in front.

Cool! So much functionality in such a tight place.

Hm, V10 in front, a Viper? But they didn't have 4WS IIC. What's it going to be?

I added the V10 on front and started a bit of bodywork.

The V10 is powered directly via the differential (thanks to the new differential )

Note that I use an old 16 tooth gear. It's required to make the engine work,  else the car is stuck.

I now need to find a way to doo the wheel arches, and to create a cool mechanism for the doors.
That's it for now.

I continued the hood.

I'm not sure about the 8L flat tile in the middle, but the rest looks globally cool.
Currently I'm struggling (since 2 days) to make a cool door mechanism, but at such a small scale it's hard.

I plan to add a working steering wheel, and to find a cool design for the seats.

For now that's it.

Some progress :

Side view.

Opening door (the door is not very strong yet)
Interior is still absent, I have to design seats and dashboard...

I added a moving spoiler. For now it isn't linked to anything but I will probably link the speed lever to it.
Note that there are two 5L axles coming out of the roof. Those are used to unlocked the
door-locking mechanism.

That's it for now.
Have a nice day.

This must be the car with the worst weight distribution in existance. I dislike the engine placement. But I cant say it's bad looking car when the hood is closed

Does it fit the width requirement? Engine cover looks wide, or are the wheels half a stud tucked inside?

Thats a fast looking car! I didn't realise those wheelarches came in red. From the side it reminds me of a retro hatch like an AE86 or even a Isuzu Piazza which was AWD. Of course if that's a transverse V10 your car must be a Volvo

Is the steering angle the same both ends? It might be cool to use different ratios front and rear as most 4WS systems have only a few degrees on the rear.

Probably :laugh_hard: But it's lego so it's okay ;)

Yes, it's exactly the width of the 42098 car :

I'm not sure to understand what you mean, but the wheel setup is still this one :

Nope, the front axle is more steered that the rear one (roughly 1.6 times more)

Some Progress today :
I added an interior, with working steering wheel. It's still quite rough.

I also linked the spoiler with the red part in the cabin.

And I started the rear bodywork; but I'm not satisfied with it...

For now that's it.
