Recruiting Line Infantry in Fatu Hiva

Line infantry are being recruited in Fatu Hiva for the defense of the colonies!  Brave Oleanders step forward to heed the call and wear the blue. The Ninth Colonial Regiment is accepting recruits today.  The only disqualifying crimes are treason, graft, or unpaid hitching-post tickets.

Behind the lieutenant, color sergeant and drummer, we can see the targets the new recruits will volley fire at and then charge.

Nice troops. Loving that banner and drum (and how is that drum built?). Great marshy area behind the formation; I would have loved to see some detail like that in front of them.

@Professor ThaumThanks! Oleon believes in peace through superior firepower and a strong negotiating position.

@BodiThanks!

@Capt WolfThank you, I considered a few options for the main ground but decided that if there were going to be targets there it should probably be clear.  The drum uses a scabbard, white Lego rubber band, and some 1x1 plates and tile.

Excellent troop of the line! I particularly like the standard and the drum (thanks for the breakdown - very clever!) and the setup with targets etc. is nice.

Where are those cool muskets from?

@BregirThank you! I spent quite a bit of time fighting out how to rig the side drum at the right angle, that scabbard piece was the key.

The muskets are BrickArms flintlocks I painted a long time ago. The barrels are too bright to really be realistic so at some point I'll strip and repaint them.

I like the troop display and the scenery adds to the feeling of recruitment. The drum was a really clever idea and I may steal it for a future use. :wink:
