I guess that's the ship he sails on. Ships are usually referred to in feminine terms.

Yep, in PoTC lore that was the Pearl before painted in black and turned into a pirate ship, probably a spanish trading vessel originally.

Btw is that licensed-Phes at the top of the bastion?
