Captain Braunsfeld Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. Straight on to our first lesson: 1) The Pirate Ship Every pirate needs a ship. But this must be well chosen. Otherwise you may end up with something too small: ... or too big You should aim for something in the „just right“ category: Now that we have covered this, you are ready for your second lesson: 2) The Crew: A ship can have a crew that is too small for its size: ...or too large ... or you might just end up with the wrong crew Actually, 8-10 skilled sailors should do for a ship of this size. That's it for now. Please come back next time for lesson 3. And don't forget your homework: Arrr! Captain Dee Posted February 22, 2020 Ah, you're back! With another (Toy) Story! Nice ship/brig. The tan plates as sails look better than white. And the pic with "too large" of a crew looks about right to me.
TeriXeri Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) Love how the "Pirate" from the 3-in-1 tree house treasure set is part of the "too small" crew Edited February 22, 2020 by TeriXeri

Not quite a story, but I am back The "training ship" has been built using only regular techniques. 9 hours ago, TeriXeri said: Love how the "Pirate" from the 3-in-1 tree house treasure set is part of the "too small" crew Well spotted! 5 hours ago, dr_spock said: Good one, Captain B. I was trying to link to one old entry (I believe it was from you) where pirates are being taught how to say "Arrrr" - but I could not find it... 5 hours ago, Kai NRG said: The large crew made me chuckle. Looking forward to the next lesson! Thanks, So we already have different opinions about the "large crew". When you think about how many sailors actually served on those ships, the "large crew" might be closer to reality. But where do they sleep?

Garmadon Posted February 24, 2020 Captain Nordau is paying close attention here... I think he missed the point about not making your ship too big though ... And I know everybody else has already said it, but I totally love that too large crew pic as well!

Well, the "Cookie's Delight" has apparently something like 20 cannons and some carronades ... and just a crew of 5-6 (plus monkey). That's a good crew for a raft but not for a large ship.
