nwbricks Posted February 3, 2020 Hello! Thought I'd share a few photos of the current state of my layout. It's not the biggest or most extravagant, and it's still very much a work in progress but I'm pleased with the progress so far. The area to the right will eventually be raised up and hold the roller coaster and other fairground bits. And after that... I'll be commandeering some more space in the spare room ha! If anyone has any recommendations for passenger coaches/ DMUs/ etc for inspiration that would be great, as I'm not a massive fan of the stock LEGO passenger trains. All the rock walls are modular and can (in theory...) be removed / modified easily in 16 or 32 stud sections, as seen in the last photo. Cheers! :)
mikaelsol Posted February 3, 2020 I think I could look at these photos for hours! The rock work with the foliage makes it looks so cozy, and there's just something about train tunnels I really do adore! Lovely!
deraven Posted February 3, 2020 Lovely! And I totally agree that the foliage you've added to the rock work make a huge difference and looks great. Will definitely enjoy seeing more of this layout as it progresses.
nwbricks Posted February 4, 2020 Thanks, much appreciated! The rocks look so bare without any greenery on them, glad you guys like it. Totally agree about the train tunnels, there's just "something" about them Will post more updates as I progress. Currently waiting on an IKEA delivery so I can sort out the fairground! Cheers :)
Manu15 Posted February 5, 2020 Woow beautiful! I envy you a lot, I don't have room to make a construction like this, and besides, I'm not so clever and creative. How long did it take you to build it?

Merlict Posted February 6, 2020 Love it! Shelf towns are always cool to me even if this is a mega version You should add a cargo elevator to let people travel between the levels. 6 hours ago, Manu15 said: and besides, I'm not so clever and creative. Sure you are man, start small and you can achieve way more than you think.

Great idea, I've literally just been buying parts for an elevator :D I need to extend the train platform a bit, so will try and make room for it there I think. Did some more work on the signal box last night, pretty happy with it so far!

nwbricks Posted February 16, 2020 Here's a few photos from the last couple of days - got the new line installed, added an island platform and currently working on the footbridge (and elevator!) The big white support in the last image is just temporary while I figure everything out! :) Cheers
nwbricks Posted February 28, 2020 A few photos of recent developments! Extended the table outwards (again), finished off the footbridge, added a small ticket hall and a canopy on the island platform :) Thanks!
