We also can't forget the Monster Book, it will go really nicely with the Hagrid's Hut scene from POA

It doesn't really bug me, the only magical creature (off the top of my head) that would also make sense to be included would be a reuse of 2018's Thestral or Arnold (who we don't see for more than a few seconds). I guess a small Thestral feeding set would be cool but I'm we're getting Grawp and the Centaurs so I'm satisfied. I highly doubt the mandrakes in the AT are printed as that would kinda take away from Sprout's accessory in the CMF

Agreed, I just think its interesting how the number of magical creatures included wave by wave has gone down a bit. I think its similar to the vehicle ratio in the sets. First year we got the Hogwarts Express, the Flying Car, and Grindlewald’s carriage. Second year we got Knight Bus and Beauxbatons Carriage. This year we only got a repeat, the Flying car. I hope they get back to including more vehicles in future waves. Oh also, I forgot that another “creature” set we’re getting this wave is the Hedwig model, which may have been why they felt they didnt have to focus on creatures as much in these sets?

When it comes to creatures it bears remembering that HBP probably has the fewest creatures of any movie (or book). I think the only living creatures we see on screen in the movie are Pygmy Puffs and a couple seconds cameo of Fawkes flying away, so it’s not really surprising that the HBP sets don’t have anything in the way of creatures. Lego has compensated by making the OotP sets really animal/creature heavy and giving us a parliament of owls in the others.

I’m the opposite. I’d much rather have fewer vehicles and more actual buildings and creatures and interesting locations. What other vehicles are left to make?

Maybe not this wave but next wave, Hagrid’s motorbike, the minecarts from Gringotts, and perhaps a remake of the Hogwarts Express if they decide to depict the Epilogue from DHII. This year, the only other vehicle I could have seen them making is the Hogwarts carriages being pulled by thestrals? (Oh or if they had decided to double back and create the Durmstrang ship, that would be another vehicle-centric set)

Same here, not a big vehicle fan (applies to every theme I'm interested in). I much prefer a proper piece of scenery or a structure

I’m really sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m unsure of the answer. For the marvel superheroes and dc superhero themes, Lego use specialised large figures for bigger characters like the Hulk. Are they allowed to use that mold for the Harry Potter and other lines? Because I think it would work for characters like Hagrid and the Troll from the first move. I’m aware that these characters have already been made in the sets, I’m just curious as to if they could use the mold.

They probably won't be able to reuse specific bigifigs from other licensed themes as those characters themselves (like Hulk and Thanos) are licensed. Harry Potter could potentially get their own bigfigs but I don't think many people would like that as there aren't really any characters/creatures that would fit the bigfig ''look'' or the way they've approached things in the reboot like Grawp and Hagrid.

What do you guys/girls think of this:

is there a possibility that LEGO will make Harry Potter Junior sets?

(Maybe after next year)

I was just thinking this the other day actually, if they did I can imagine a part of Hogwarts based around this gate piece being used.

That’s true. I would love a Durmstrang ship, although I’ve got the FB carriage for the thestral carriage. Made me realise I like it when they’re fantasy vehicles. However I do love the Hogwarts Express and the Knight Bus and flying Ford are classics.

They made a reuseable body for bigfigs where they just have to change the head, like Marvel's Hulk or DC's Killer Croc or Disney's Maui, so clearly they can use that across various licensed themes without a problem (with different heads and printing, obviously). They could possibly use it in Harry Potter, but I can't think of too many characters / creatures it would be suitable for. The existing Hagrid mould is better than the bigfig mould (I can't imagine Hagrid with those huge beefy arms!). The troll in the bathroom might be a good shout, though, that's a possibility when they do more Philosospher's / Sorcerer's Stone sets.

We know Lego sometimes include sets that customers who aren't fans of the theme will buy, such as the Corsair Ship in LotR which appealed to Pirates fans. I think the Durmstrang ship will porribly be the same, however there is currently the Barracuda Bay set, the Creator pirate ship and potentially the Caribbean Clipper update on Lego Ideas, so maybe Lego don't want to flood the Pirates market right now.

I can definitely see the Knight Bus and Hogwarts Express getting new sets if the theme lives long enough.

Is there really many more vehicles Lego can make? All I can think of off the top of my head is Hagrids (/Sirius's) flying motorbike for if they make a small Deathly Hallows set next year. Personally I wouldn't mind an oversized brick-built motorbike so it can fit Hagrid on and have a sidecar for Harry. Throw in a couple of masked Death Eaters on broomsticks and maybe a car for the road part of the chase scene and I reckon that would make a great £12-20 set.

Looks interesting. I think they can use it in tan for the castle. Do wonder what kind of sets it would be. Probably more animal/vehicle based.

I could definitely see them using that piece as the entrance to the Great Hall with a more simplified interior and a classroom or something.

No problem. And for the record, no questions are stupid as long as they're posted in the proper thread (which you did)

Somehow, some way, a helicopter.

Young Draco Malfoy, zipping around on a broom and getting chased by Muggles in helicopters as per his boasts to his friends in book one!

Not gonna lie a 'Harry Potter 2020'' original theme combining the Wizarding World with today's technology would be extremely farfetched but pretty cool
