Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

Today I want to intoduce you my latest MOC, Kenworth T600 with Michigan 8-axle Trailer.

Truck features:

  • Driving and fake V8 engine - 1 Buggy motor + 1 XL motor
  • Front axle steering - 1 Servo motor
  • Fifth wheel lock - 1 M motor
  • Possibility to power the trailer
  • 2 SBricks for control
  • 2 big battery boxes for powering
  • Pendular suspension on 2 rear axles
  • Openable doors and hood
  • Suspension on the seats

Truck dimensions:

  • Length - 54 cm
  • Width - 19 studs
  • Height - 24 cm
  • Weight - 2860 g

Trailer features

  • 3 front axles lifting - 1 M motor
  • 2 rear axles lifting - 1 M motor
  • Pneumatic pump - 1 M motor
  • 1 Sbrick for control
  • Powering from the truck
  • Activation of the pneumatic outriggers - 1 M motor
  • Openable rear doors

Trailer dimensions:

  • Length - 95 cm
  • Width - 19 studs
  • Height - 22 cm
  • Weight - 4035 g

Making bodywork for this truck was quite challenging: the hood is widening from 9 studs to 13, then the cabin from 13 to 14, and the sleeper is widening from 17 to 19 studs. Also the top of the hood and the roof of the cabin have angles.

And, of course, some fotos:

You can find more fotos here.

I hope I'll be able to film the video this month.

Also I'm working on instructions for the truck. Most likely the will be realized in December.

Hope You like it!

Impressive!

You captured the lines of the real truck very well.

And of course I like black colour. I need all those black panels!

looks real good.

I appreciate the time passed on the détails.

But,

Your truck is bending Under the wheight.

Totally unacceptable according my own quality criterias.

Just my opinion...

It really needs technic frames and a very more robust chassis (maybe studfull structure?)

Steph.

How is the Turning circle with all axles on the ground?

Well, it barely can turn when all axles are on the ground. Even in real life these trucks turn only with lifted axles.

Yes, you are right. The reason why I couldn't make truck to not bend is asymmetrical chassis and my poor skills in building sturdy things. Making studfull frame isn't an option for me because I enjoy building with only studless parts.

Yeah, this particular state it one of the most liberal regarding the trailer weight and size regulations, however each weight portion must be supported by each axle... So some heavy-duty centipedes may come

Looking at all these amazing trucks and trailers (and this one especially) I still recap that THG is the world biggest tire vendor, indeed!

Hello,

I've done a video showing the truck driving, but one of SBricks was continuously disconnecting, so the driving wasn't smooth. Here is video:

Also I reinforced the chassis a little, so it bends slightly less, and because the chassis is asymmetrical one side bends more than other.

About instructions: they are only about 25% ready, and I don't know when the will be finished.
