Palixa And The Bricks Posted October 9, 2019 Hi everyone! Haven't been here for a long time. My last builds weren't town related and also I was busy with other non Lego stuff. But, I'm back now I just finished a new MOC. It's kind of modular, but it's not a Modular In addition to my Amsterdam project I also wanted to build a windmill. It is loosely based on the windmills at Kinderdijk in the Netherlands and the windmill at Rövershagen in Northern Germany. The mill has an octagonal shaped base and a roof that rotates. It was quite a challenge to build. I struggled a lot and even wanted to quit. The size and the shape of it pushed me way out of my comfort zone. The first two levels are fully furnished. On the ground floor there is a pottery workshop with a kiln, a pottery wheel, shelves for clay, different types of glaze and finished items. On the second floor there is the apartement of the potter. This floor is splitted into separate smaller modules so it can be removed and the ground floor can be accessed. Also the middle part and the roof of the mill are separate modules. There are more pictures on flickr. I hope you like it.
ExeSandbox Posted October 10, 2019 What a masterpiece! The fact that you built all those angles with little to no gaps is mind boggling! It also look incredibly cozy both on the inside and outside. Every aspect of this MOC is brilliant!
Man with a hat Posted October 10, 2019 Great windmill. The shape of it is really cleverly done. And on top of that a stunning interior as well.
jpx Posted October 10, 2019 Great build! The shape and the walls are spot on! Love the table at the apartment, with the flowers!
The Brick Boss Posted October 10, 2019 Amazing, out of this world and top notch! I could actually use something like this in my town.
peedeejay Posted October 10, 2019 Great, just great! It looks already fantastic from the outside but with the interior it really is a masterpiece!
Palixa And The Bricks Posted October 10, 2019 Oh, wow. Thank you very much, guys Makes me happy, that you like it. Interior is very important to me and it's often the most fun part of the building process. I like to imagine what it would be like to live there if I were a minifigure. LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 10, 2019 I have always loved windmills ...and this is a masterpiece, I like the interiors so well made The bedroom is my favorite!
paupadros Posted October 11, 2019 I couldn't be able to say nasty words even if I wanted! This is a perfect model, beautiful to look at, nicely detailed all around and especially superb shaping. I really like the cone at the first grey bit on top of the tan house and the integration of the windows there, amazing! Very very hard to point out something that feels off, so I just won't I like the use of the fully-studded finish on the model, it gives it that great "it looks real, but it has that Lego charm to it". In that aspect, it reminds me of @Pate-keetongu's house from New Century Corner II, but better overall and put in a more fitting context. Congrats!
carebear Posted October 13, 2019 O My!!!! Just Amazing Work!!!!! Can't stop watching this!!!!!!!! Greetings!
koalayummies Posted October 15, 2019 This is a gorgeous MOC. Love the flowing sweeping design of the roof and the SNOT connected windows into side. Very warm and fuzzy feeling build. Fantastic work!

Palixa And The Bricks Posted October 24, 2019 Aw, thanks again for the kind words, everyone! There are no "wedge tiles" to do it. But I have to say, that I actually like the studs on this model and I maybe would have built the mill that way even if those tiles would exist
Krol Zmija Sebastian Posted October 24, 2019 Impressive! You have me at a loss for words.
LegoDW Posted October 24, 2019 Your interior details look amazing. You really worked some magic in there! Wish you were able to get some color variation in your roof to break things up a bit. Did you explore placing a few random tiles and cheese wedges here and there on the roof to give it some detail and age?
RyszardBosiak Posted October 28, 2019 Very nice interior, really interesting idea with walls on the bottom.
Blazej_Holen Posted October 28, 2019 Really nice creation. Especially that shape, and all geometry... But interior is so much clean on my taste...

EVE Posted November 9, 2019 Brilliant constructing the dome in 5's instead of 4's or 6's! Hoe you don't mind if I steal the idea for a zeppelin gas bag. How's you come up with it?
Palixa And The Bricks Posted November 12, 2019 Thanks again everyone :) On 11/9/2019 at 1:37 AM, EVE said: Brilliant constructing the dome in 5's instead of 4's or 6's! Hoe you don't mind if I steal the idea for a zeppelin gas bag. How's you come up with it? It was just trial and error. I started building the mill bottom to top. So that and the proportions which the mill should have, determined the size of the dome. But it took quite some time to figure it out.
