[MOC] Audi Quattro Group B Rally Car

[Teo LEGO Technic]

Hey everyone,

Here's my newest MOC, the Audi Quattro group B rally car. Hope you guys like it!

It has

-working steering with servo motor

-4x4 drive with 2 x L motors and independent suspension

-two speed RC gearbox

-headlights

-opening doors and hood.

I really like the look (except the wheels :-D)!

That's really reminiscent to the 8880, 8448 and other models before 2005, where more and more panels were used :-)

Yeah I started off with the Crane Truck wheels, but i couldn't help using the wide ones.

Fantastic model ! Clean lines and efficient parts usage.

Today's MOCs (and sets) have a parts bloat. This is a welcome departure.

I really tried to keep the parts down, I'm glad it shows. Ever since my Mercedes G class which I weighed down so much the differential teeth broke, I decided to opt for cleaner building.

The bodywork is pretty good, I like the Headlights. But why are the Wheels sticking out so much? Was there really no way to get the tires flush to the Body?

Originally I scaled the car with the Crane Truck tires, and those are flush, but I couldn't resist using the wide racer tires for the final version.

Can you post a Pic with the flush Tires please?

I like the look of this car, with just a few parts.
I think that If you ad a central differential it might work a bit better, as your car is AWD.
And you might have some bump-steer problem as the steering arm isn't parallel to the suspension arm. However it's not really a problem as the car seems to have a short travel.

There was a bit of a bump-steer problem, but I used an even lengthed rack for the steering of 8 studs, like in Piterx's Lancia and it helped.
