Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

Thats actually what is sometimes to see in real life.

Albeit not possible officially, yes there is a lot drinking between construction workers.

Whether it is real life or not is not really an issue. War, terrorism, violence, abuse, pornography, etc is real life too. It is whether it is appropriate for a child's toy.

Is teaching a kid that alcohol and the operation of machinery go well together a good idea? To me, not.

Of course not - that set is from 1975 (https://www.playmobil.de/hochbauarbeiter-bierkasten/3312-A.html)

Doesn't make any difference, but these days many, many other things were - a bit different. I guess there is a learning curve to be expected.

The machinery that guy is operating is a wheelbarrow and a brick trowel. But again: not good to drink and build.

Best,
Thorsten

Alright these opinions of mine might get me killed, so here it goes:

- Lego Spyrius was an overrated theme

- Lego Hero Factory was way better than Bionicle in terms of storytelling and figures

- The whole Lego gun controversy last year was thrown way out of context by TLG, yes I understand that you don’t want your products associated with firearms because your main demographic is children, but I mean it technically doesn’t have anything to do with you, TLG isn’t responsible for what consumers do with your product, it’s like a guy filming a murder on an iPhone, the guy goes to prison, but Apple doesn’t get blasted on the media for because someone used  their product in a way not intended, there’s basically an invisible “use at your own risk” on anything Lego

BRO!!!!! I miss Hero Factory. That was a great theme. I wanted some of those sets but I was too late.

I also agree that it's better than Bioncle.

Bro same! I really wanted the sets too! I liked Hero Factory because you could just buy a set from a random year and not be confused, whereas Bionicle was a jumbled up mess if you were not there in 2001, I mean sure it saved TLG’s bacon, and it was the precursor to the MCU, but literally it overwhelmed me.

Here's an unpopular opinion. (sarcasm)

I expect my $200 LEGO set not to be missing pieces or actually getting them in the right bag! I'm building the Frozen Castle and a small bag needed in bag 3 is in bag 4.

Did you contact Lego customer service? I would recommend it, you could also just return the set to the retail store and get a replacement set.

Okay here’s some more:

- I do not need to have a new landspeeder, TIE fighter, or x-wing every 1-2 years

- Lego CMF series has lost its magic and TLG should end it

- can TLG actually give us their core themes we haven’t seen since 2013, instead of Big Bang themes that burn out after 3 years?

- STOP DOING SO MANY LICENCES!!!!!!

It's 9pm here, LEGO is closed. I went on Amazon and people have complained about 'missing' pieces. I don't think they are missing. I think LEGO screwed up steps 3 and 4. Like small bag in bag 3 was supposed to be in bag 4 and vis versa. But on a $200 LEGO set this is not acceptable.

Also I got it off ebay for 35-40% off because the box is bent up. So it's not going back, I was never planning on buying it because I figured I would never get it for a price I wanted but glitter bricks are my downfall.

Yeah honestly it kind of ticks me off that TLG is always bragging about its quality, but then ends up with a mistake and a whole lot of angry customers.

Another unpopular opinion about Lego. I actually like the new 2022 City sets. I have the school and the standalone police patrol car. Go on social media and you'll see people smack talking them. But I think they're just fine for what we could've gotten. I can't wait to see the grocery store set this summer. I've been screaming for Lego to do one of those for City. I hope its not a 4+ set. Unfortunately, I recently lost my job at the Subaru dealership so I currently can't buy any new. I have lots of money in my savings account, but I need that for emergencies (though my Lego town being put at a halt is kind of an emergency). So right now, all Lego purchases are halted until my financial situation is straight. Meanwhile, I plan to get back into the bus driving game.

All I hear is you need more credit cards.

(But seriously, sorry that sucks.)

Yeah and the quality used to be fine and the last 3-5 years have dropped like a rock. It's a $200 set and it's a major screw up. I'll continue building it and see what happens then shoot an email to LEGO. It might be an issue at the Mexico plant again like with the STUNTZ bikes.

Yeah I never thought I’d see the day when TLG finally made a school set and a grocery store.

I enjoy stepping on them. It’s more of a massage therapy moment for me.:pir-wink:

Don’t worry man, I also have a supernatural tolerance to stepping on Lego.

In the same year on top of that. Now all they have to do is to do a post office. :classic:

I like your style. A post office would be the cherry on top for city this year.

Do kids these days know what a post office is?

Okay yeah now that I think about it maybe a post office would probably be outlandish this day and age, might as well not mention my idea for a park…

Plenty of kids these days still know what a post office is. They still have to take parcels to the place to be delivered. They also can get their passport at a post office. Don't forget, it's kids all over the world that love Lego. Not just in the states. Heck! In the UK and in most of Europe (where Lego HQ is based), the postal working is still a pretty prominent industry. Why Lego doesn't do it more in City, we may never really understand. But it's definitely still an industry that I wouldn't consider writing off.

Very unpopular opinion, we will get a Post office set before we get a new goat.

To be fair, you might not live to see the day as we haven't seen the grocery store yet. :pir_tong2:

However there have been several Friends schools and a 4+ set from years ago that was a grocery store in a pink suitcase.

Parcels? I don't think children know that word. But the kids know where to take the packages, to Kohl's or Whole Foods.

Ummm, are you assuming I going to die before I see the set, or is this a murder plot…

That's what they call packages in Europe. Dunno why I'm obsessed with using European terms so much. I recently started using words such as "bloody" and "blast" which are NOT profanity here in the states. I've also began addressing people as "Sir", "luv" or "madam"

I’m Canadian, so we talk the same way as Americans, but honestly I’ve read so much Harry Potter that all I need is the accent and I’ll be British

also in Canada, parcel and packages are used interchangeably

I know, it’s all in good fun, at least we’re not like the dudes in the older pages having an all out gang war over Lego and social issues (matter of fact I have read all 36 pages in my free time)

Yikes. I sometimes skip like 20 pages because I've seen people disagree with me and then just go on for pages. Like in the Blizzard work abuse topic. Just step out and walk away. haha
