I LOVED building Jerac's A-wing so much that decided to give a go at the Resistance RZ-2 A-Wing.  I chose dark blue, because a few crucial pieces were not made in the regular blue color, and I still feel it works. I tried to be as accurate as possible, while sticking to mini-fig scale, without using stickers.  No real play features, as I was going for accuracy, but it's durable and swooshable.  I'm really pleased with how the "humps" on the hood, and the red lines, or "call-sign" on the wing turned out.  As you can see in the pictures you can change the number of red lines to your liking - and they fit snuggly and wont fall out.

Let me know what you think!

The moc looks great, the best RZ-2  I have seen to date, even better than bertholts version on rebrickable.

The new modified round tiles only comes in dark blue, and the dark blue looks great against the white.

Looks amazing, stellar job on the detailed cockpit!  I love the seat and the control panel. Colors, shaping, and the smoothness are all great, especially the studless underside!  How similar is the frame to Jerac's?

That's fantastic! The flow of the blue stripe is amazing, I love how it gets thicker in the bend. I wonder how you got the slight inward taper on the thruster fins - how are the engine blocks connected to the hull. Oh and last - is that ball joint piece that connects the canons on the sides still being made or is it a discontinued piece?

Thank you - very much appreciated!

What a wonderful rendition!  The shaping on the bottom is especially good.  Great build!  :classic:

Thank you!  Here are a couple more shots of the cockpit detail

The frame is kinda sorta similar - the way the hood and underside slope towards the front is done in a similar fashion, the engine connections are similar, and the cockpit borrows a couple ideas.  I originally sat down with his directions in front of me, but quickly realized there isn't enough room for all the stuff he did in his RZ-1, and just started putting bricks together.

are you going to have instructions and parts lists? please

Maybe?  Depends on if there is enough interest..

Thank you! The fins are attached in a similar fashion as Jerac's RZ-1 - see pic below.  Fairly simple, yet effect connection.

I believe the ball joint is no longer in production in light gray - they still make it in yellow though.

I'd certainly be interested to see how it's put together. I'm curious about the upside-down construction, I spent ages messing with my A-Wing's underside before I was happy with it.

Sleek and elegant shaping, good colouring and detailing. I also like the cockpit. Very snug and tidy. Great build! :classic:

I certainly have a lot of interest, and sure others will too.

Here is bertholt's version, I made some minor changes. It is still a very good moc, but your one trumps it now, in terms of complexity, shape and accuracy.

Very nice! Shame they got so little on-screen time.
I'd try curved 2x2 slopes on the sides of engines, or maybe even using very old 3x6x3 engine blocks for engines, to get more curvature?

That makes two people!  I'll see what I can do - maybe some instructions "Inthert style"

So little screen time! Hopefully more in The Rise of Skywalker

2x2 curved slopes won't work b/c the engines need to be smaller than the RZ-1 - 3 studs wide instead of 4 studs wide on the RZ-1.   I wish they made 1x1 curved slopes that I could use instead of the 1x1 and 1x2 regular slopes that I used on the sides of the engines.  I initially started with the 3x6x3 engine blocks, but couldn't quite get them to work for me.  Thanks for the suggestions!

I must say, you have me baffled. I've been trying to figure out for a while now how you attached those round 4x4 plates behind the cockpit. Every connection I can come up with intersects the upper mudguard piece.

I, uh, cheated... sorry to all that I offend!

Connecting the round 4x4 plates behind the cockpit was a fun challenge.  I went through about 4-5 different connection points, but settled on this one.  It had to be offset every so slightly to line up with the cockpit.

And here's the part where I cheated....  I originally uses a regular bracket and used 1x4 curved slopes similar to Jerac.  It looked fine, but then I saw these pieces and thought what a shame it was that they were 2x2.  So I cut the piece down to size.  I thought I could make it work without cutting the plate by having it sit in the open space of the dark blue round 4x4, but I couldn't get it to work.

Haha, you scoundrel!

To be fair, that should be an official piece.

I must say, it's being quite fun trying to figure this model out. :P

**UPDATE**

I finished the Stud.io model this weekend and tinkered with some color-swaps.  I didn't check to see if LEGO makes all the pieces in the colors needed, so I'm sure I will need to edit them when I make instructions.  For example, I know they don't make the ice cream cone piece in red or green, but I can swap those out for regular cones.  I didn't spend much time on the red or green models, I only swapped colors.

Looking great! I can tell you that the large sloped wedge pieces don't come in red at all, I already checked. Though I'd love to be proven wrong. :)

EDIT: I was wrong, kinda. Those wedges do exist in red. But Studio lists them as £7.29, which is probably as good as non-existent. xD
