Right. I think they should've called it MBS.

If they keep the MBS going for a while maybe they'll just retcon it and put out a poster

Come on, a Moff Gideon TIE is a no-brainer. The only question is which wave.

It seems like a no-brainer to me too, and I would have expected it to be in the January wave. But from what I've seen, it's MIA. I would love to be wrong about this. If not, best hope is that it will show up as a store exclusive, or maybe the wave that comes out a year from now (at which point Mando season 3 would be airing, so...?)

It it were true, it should be ready for Christmas, to have the hero and the main villain in the same shelf. But I guess I'll be proved wrong.

Actually, you raise a good point. There is one set it could possibly, maaaaaaybe be: 75289. It was a skipped number this year, but there is nothing to say it couldn't still come in 2020, or even 2021. I was thinking of the 2021 Jan/Apr waves, which do not appear to include it.

That said, I would still expect a TIE Outlander to be $80 (or more), given the Sith TIE was that much, and the set would need more parts than the last regular TIE to accommodate the folding wings, landing gear, etc.

Is it possible the numbers were allocated at the same time with the intention of releasing them alongside each other, but for whatever reason the Razor Crest was released earlier? I don't really know if there's any logic to how set numbers are allocated.

Exactly why it should have been MBS...

I feel like it's more of a display model.

UCS Nien Numb statue confirmed. the three niens mean it will be three times as large as the UCS falcon.

Are you saying that his TIE won't be in the spring wave either, or that there just aren't any waves between january and august/september?

It has stud shooters, spring loaded missiles and a carrying handle. It's still a decent display model but more of a playset than a UCS imo. Similar to the UCS Sandcrawler (that would probably be MBS if it was released today).

The pattern of the waves next year looks to be very similar to this year. The April 2021 wave does not appear to include system sets, and there are fewer system sets listed for Jan 2021 than there were this year (and no BPs).

But this year there were a ton of what I loosely call “bonus” sets that weren’t shown to retailers and weren’t in the catalog, though their numbers were listed in computers as eventual sets, pretty much from the start. (All or most of these ended up as store exclusives.) There were also sets that appeared out of order (The Child, Brickheadz) and sets that were cancelled. Next year looks like it has fewer of the “bonus” sets and fewer of the mainline retail sets. So fewer sets all-around.

But still, anything could happen. Maybe this supposed TIE is 75289 as I said earlier, held until late this year or early next year since there are already so many TIEs on shelves... though that seems like wishful thinking. I haven’t read the post saying this is coming so I don’t know what the purported specifics are, beyond “$70 TIE”. Was there a release time listed? Or a set number?

what´s the source for the TIE out-lander tho? only been seeing it on IG thus far . Also, watch in awe as some spanish speaking groups are now taking the "gungan sub confirmed" comment from this thread as a legitimate leak haha, love the sarcasm but it is amusing how it can sometimes swoosh over languages.

Also the TIE/O being an "extra" release has me a bit worried as those normally dont have exclusive molds and such... would be a shame if the dark saber is just a plain 4L black bar... again

I purchased the Cloud City set even if I would like it to be more like the Death Star. To me the set was good enough and balanced (specially with the discount) to justify having the pieces and the minifigs and make the changes to fit my taste just myself. It's Lego. I wouldn't put there the mid scale Slave I and save the pieces for other usages, but that's just me.

Here with the Cantina Lego is hitting the spot, IMO. They are calling it MBS, so this isn't technically a collectors set. However, it's displayability is very good; minifig selection is excellent, it could be better (e.g. with a Bantha fig), but it is excellent; and playability is also very good. I use to buy larger SW sets for me, but I really like seeing my children playing with them, like with the Death Star or the Cloud City and modify/extend them. In this case, l'll rebuild my larger Cantina MOC as other side Tatooine buildings with my children just for fun. It's perfect to be displayed close to the UCS Sandcrawler.

I swear, I wish I would like my kids (or kid the younger one is just a baby) play with them, but frankly Im just worried, especially when she has Friends over. Now and then I let them but it will always be under survellience. When it comes to my lego, KGB in da house!

Shame. I wonder if the non-system sets are like a "series 2" for the helmets, or something else.

From what i've seen there is literally no info besides that it's moff gideon's tie and $70, which makes me think it's fake.

jdubbs says it's not in the january or april waves unless it's a retail exclusive or something.

The black katana piece from ninja turtles, ninjago, etc works much better than the black 4l bar for a lightsaber. only problem is the hilt is black too, but at least you've got the right shape.

Honestly the main cast had to be included; Lego could have been snarky and reject both droids because they are not allowed in; and to be fair at the rate lego is pumping R2-D2 into sets no one would have complainned to see another alien or droid in his place and 3PO is in the landspeeder set already available.

I'm 100% getting this day one and it's coming from someone jaded since a couple years of this theme especially after a lot of dissapointing sets ( Betrayal at Bespin and Assault on Hoth omg )

Now it's Razorcrest, AT-AT, duel at Bespin and this Mos Esley set; this is a breath of fresh air after the forgetable sequel trilogy legacy of sets.

And even if they didnt include the main cast, I doubt they would fill it up with 6 new characters, especially does that need new molded parts. I think we should just see it as a small bonus, even if we AFOLs dont really appreciate it that much.

19 hours ago, Archer said:

Someone will inevitably point out something I'm forgetting, but this set has potentially half as many new molds as we've gotten for the whole OT since the ST started. Starting in 2016 Im counting maybe 6 if I'm generous and give them Han's hair which was updated because of Solo. (I'm not including Hologram Leia)

-Stormtrooper Update

-Scout Trooper Update

-4-LOM

-Zuckus

-The Helmet Briefly Known as Rebel Helmet

-Han Hair

It's refreshing to think that some of that "new mold budget" that the ST devoured can go back to finishing up the gaps in the OT!

Don't get me wrong, I'm proudly displaying all 6 Knights of Ren, but those 6 pieces of set dressing got as many new molds as the entire OT has in 5 years =D.

Not like I have been counting, but really, is that it? Damn, it aint much, then in that regard, it really doesn't make sense to complain

The fact that there is no set number raises a flag, because it would be very easy to debunk (or confirm) if they included it.

Oh yeah I definitely am aware that the PT got sidelined even more. Padme's hair is the only mold I can immediately think of, and there were only a handful of new figs. Boss Nass, Kiminoan, and Wat Tambor are within my top six desired figs.

My initial focus on only OT was due to the beautiful new cantina set. Before we had any details on this set, Ponda, Imperial Spy, and Dr Evazan were quite noticeable as missing for 20 years. Importance or screentime is not always the reason people sorely want a fig, 'Cough" Boba Fett. I think Nein Nunb is a significantly missing character, and hell, he was in the sequel trilogy!

Except Nien Nunb it's basically only a huge bunch of other cantina patrons + Jabba de hutt crew members that we are missing right? But I also think they should make some new ewok variations soon.

7 hours ago, MGS6735 said:

"Quite noticeable as missing" seems like a bit of an overstatement to me in regards to these characters. It's probably because I'm not the biggest OT fan, but it's still nice to see Lego making figures for characters we haven't gotten before.

I agree that this isn't always the case, but those reasons should be taken into account when Lego decides what new figures to make. I think gaps in the main/plot-relevant characters should be filled before we start getting background characters in an ideal world. Of course, that isn't the world we inhabit.

Also, importance should be a slightly bigger factor than screentime in determining whether a figure gets made in my opinion.

Well, I guess it's pretty clear by now that the OT will always sell, so in legos money making point of view, some OT bystandards will be made at the expense of more central characters from the other material

For some characters, I also prefer to have a second copy that I carefully save. Baby Yoda will be one of them for sure, unless it will be easily available. Many unique characters have appeared more or less equal over time in smaller sets, that make them a better target for my children. But I don't know what I could do with Baby Yoda, because it's the hot spot of the Razor set and my children have it in their radar... :cry_sad:

It could be a case of "throw poodoo at the wall and hope it sticks" in action.  It's pretty much the only other thing from S1 of Mando that you could say "Yeah, that makes perfect sense for a set" without any "Well, they've never done anything like that..." or "Well, there's no much playability there..." issues.  If we get it, then whoever floated the leak gets to claim credibility, even if it was just a guess, and if we don't get it, then the guy didn't have credibility in the first place, so he doesn't risk a reputation.

Not saying it's false, but like you said, if there isn't even a set number associated, that seems a little odd, since most of the legit leakers tend to say "These are the set numbers that are coming, we have info on these, we don't on these" type of thing.

I agree that the set makes sense, but given how confirmed-credible people are talking, seems unlikely.

As far as new molds go, yeah, I think so.  Obviously people like Beru or other human background characters, but I think as far as aliens, we've gotten most of the big ones (bounty hunters, Greedo, Jabba, Rancor, Bib Fortuna, etc)

Hello everyone, sorry if I'm interrupting I don't mean to. But, has anybody heard any news about LEGO Star Wars Celebration The Bespin Duel 75294 set from Target?

From what I've heard or read on Lego.com they have stopped and won't restock on their website. I haven't heard anything from Target yet. Just wondering, if anybody has heard about any more restocks for this VERY exclusive set.

Thanks, everyone. I highly appreciate it.
