My belief is that Ryan at MandR isn’t just making this up based on his mixed feelings about it in the video (yes, I watched it to see what he actually said about it). I’m not a fan of all the teenage Lego youtubers necessarily, but people want what they want, and I can definitely understand the deep desire for a 501st battle pack (not that I condone the aggressive campaign for it which has probably brought the chances of it actually happening to zero). He most likely heard it from someone else like he said and just is in the fence about liking it since it would finally be a 501st “battle pack” type set but it’s also $30. All this to say, judging by his reaction to the rumor, I believe he truly heard it somewhere, but it may still not be true

Sure, he may have phrased it cautiously, but his fans could still run with it at face value and then we'll never hear the end of it  I hope the proper minifig list will pop up soon to prevent misinterpretations from spreading

I think this is pretty likely, especially since lego doesn't seem to count b1s as full figures (but they count r2, this is discrimination against the separatist alliance!), so we could get what you and @Kit Figsto have suggested.

Though I doubt the sequels were the reason small sets had lower fig counts, I'm not sure that they're that maniacal.

My gosh please! The last thing we need is for people to assume we’re getting 501st troops and then when we don’t they boycott the clone wars sets so Lego thinks they don’t sell well and never make anymore again

I can totally see this happening. This folds in literally every aspect of the lego community.

Except you'd have to get the little kids in on it too or the boycott wouldn't work. We aren't exactly the main consumer base of these sets.

I wouldn't even use the word rumor at this point, I think it's almost entirely people speculating that a BARC + AT-RT could mean that there's an unusually large number of clones in the set.  I think if it's true that it does come with an AT-RT (I don't even know who the initial source on the AT-RT was, I just know that BARC is for sure coming), at least two clones make sense, as there would need to be drivers for both vehicles, but anything more than that seems like wishlisting.  I could be wrong, obviously, and I have no insider info, but I think tempering expectations until we actually get pictures is probably the wise thing to do.  Especially when Youtube "leaks" often turn out to be false.

If we do get 4 clones in the BARC + AT-RT set, I really hope they're not 501st. I mean, I want 501st troops as much as anyone, but I'd rather have a new legion, (Windu's 91st, 327th, Nova Corps) than 501st troopers.

If I remember correctly, a few years back when Mandr reported of a large store exclusive that would be Darth Vader's castle, everyone called him crazy and no one believed it, and if I remember he was the only one that reported it. Im not saying that what he said about the 501st troopers, but he has proved that his "sources" could know things others do not.

This is correct, Ryan has his leakers that made correct leaks for years now when others didn't believe him.And he always knew a lot of things and just waited for green light to reveal them to not get leakers in trouble. He only recently started going to eurobricks, and never before used it as his source. He is not making stuff up he is just saying what the leaker told him and I 100% trust him. 

Before Ryan even made that video, Solid Brix had a donation around minute 13:03 on his part 2 cloud city live stream about that rumor too, so it is going around for a while. 

Also this people that insult Ryan calling him clown and stuff, isn't there some rules about insulting or harassing people in forums or something? It's tasteless and immature.

If it is the 501st, I could see them being the 332nd Company since the set will be released after Season 7 ends.

That's not even the worst case scenario:

It could come with a jedi and one clone, namely the Kashyyk Clone Trooper from 75234 (AT-AP)  and 75261 (Clone Scout Walker). In this case, it would come with zero new clones.

Given that the RRP of 75261 was $29,99 and that it contained 3 minifigs + 1 droid, I find it highly unlikely that 75280 will feature four clones and two droids.

I would like a 501st battle pack, be it a "huge" one as rumored or a regular one. But, to be honest, no decent source of Phase II clones was released since 2013, so I'd be fine with other Phase II clones as well (I'm not a fan of the 332nd, though). I suppose that 75035 (Utapau BP) and 75036 (Kashyyk BP) sold very poorly, so Lego decided not to make further Phase II clone battle packs.

Does anyones really think those two Battle Packs sold poorly?  I always thought they had to be some of the best selling Battle Packs of all time, considering how easy it is to find youtubers and collectors with absurd amounts of them stockpiled.  I figured they would have appealed strongly to kids as well, given one had the cool droid for your Troopers to fight and the other was all camouflaged guys which had never been done before.  Kids love their green army guys. ?

I am fully expecting this.  Even though nothing is confirmed yet, I think any hopes for this set to contain a legion other than the flagship Clone Troopers of Season 7 are misplaced.

If we’re lucky, we may get some 187th Troopers along with the new AAT.

But otherwise I think we can reasonably expect one or two Clone Troopers (332nd and 501st) with the BARC Speeder / AT-RT.  Also, this will most likely be the Ashoka set.

I'm not sure, I just feel like every official Lego post I see is flooded with these comments, with the official account even replying to some saying stuff along the lines of "we hear you, and things like this take a while to develop/there's a long process to make sets." It could be (and likely is) an extremely vocal minority, but Lego isn't stupid and I can definitely see them putting at least one or two 501st troopers in this $30 set. Realistically, it would probably have Rex and maybe Anakin, plus a few droids, and I definitely don't expect four of the same figure to appear, but I can believe them making one or two.

If we got 91st or 327th troopers those wouldn't be new though, we've gotten those before.

I think that rule applies more to the forum itself and the participants of a discussion, not necessarily ''outsiders'' too. But I definetely wouldn't say it's tasteless and immature, he's done things in the past that were pretty stupid, dumb or outright ridiculous like his 15 minute long rant about Target not selling him sets early.

The 332nd seems the most realistic  if we’re getting any clones this year.The normal jet troopers with blue markings would make sense for the AAT as well from the clone wars trailer.Thought they were 501st but from battlefront seems like blue is the normal color for phase II jets.Would gain some interest in Disney plus and the series so seems like a logical move

Im actually pretty tired of the repetetive and narrowminded answers about capitalism. Of course a business has to go with profit in the long run, but this is absolutely no reason in that everything a company does or should do is to maximize profit. A company can and should do good as well

Well his cloud city leaks were completely wrong. There are reasons why he’s not considered a reliable source. I’ve got nothing against the guy, just a simple man trying to make his way in the universe. But he does need to earn that reliability and I think he understands that. If he keeps giving solid information that pans out, more people will respect him as a leaker. He’s very young and he’s a YouTuber, just not who I would go to for reliable leaks. Maybe someday, who knows?

I agree to an extent. I'd rather get the blank p2 troops, or a mix of troop types, though that's unlikely. I don't want a large number of 332nd as much as they're just a more situational 501st.

However, we know where anakin and obi-wan are, in anakin's interceptor (we don't have any specific leak but I mean c'mon, his name is in the set), and the soulless one. If there's only one clone, ahsoka would hopefully be the jedi figure.
