Yes, I have. So far it has been a positive experience but of course it is very early days. The idea has been submitted but there is a long process to go through before a decision can be made as to whether it might be suitable for a pilot project. They made it clear that even some really good ideas may not be suitable because they don't meet certain criteria. Some of the criteria are:

Must be a new idea

Must be widely marketable as a product or service

Should come from within the AFOL community and ultimately benefit the AFOL community

Not just aimed at children.

The ideas are not initially protected by a confidentiality contract but neither are they disclosed to the AFOL community unless and until they become pilot projects.

Thank you so much for sharing their criteria :)

..we're talking about 3D home-printed compatible parts.

TLG's legal department have their hands full fighting major copycats like Lepin. They don't really have the time or resources to chase after every small-time home 3D printer hobbyist, even if they wanted to. In reality, the onus is on us as an AFOL community to follow the "fair play" guidelines.

No problem. :)

Another criteria I forgot to mention :

The idea should not be based on sets, ie not another version of LEGO Ideas.

This is the only one that I knew because they said it when initially shared the news about the LUL. Pity, I built a lot of sets XD

Looks like this initiative has finally got a platform up and running!!! :oh:

LEGO Ideas - Got an Innovation Idea you Want to Share with Us? Check out the LEGO Innovation Intake Portal!

Quote

Recently, the LEGO Group launched a new platform under the name LEGO Innovation Intake Portal, which is designed to accept any cool innovation ideas, which are NOT related to a LEGO model (for LEGO model ideas, please keep using LEGO Ideas as usual).

Each year, the LEGO Group receives a huge volume of ideas from fans that don't fit into the "LEGO Ideas" bucket and we receive all these ideas by email, phone, messages to our Customer Service or sometimes even through personal conversations at fan events or similar. The portal was launched in order to streamline, keep track and evaluate all the different channels through which we historically have received ideas from LEGO fans around the world.

To access the platform, follow the link below:

So what exactly do they expect you to submit? Ideas for new LEGO themes, or something else?

As the FAQ at LEGO Ideas' blog post puts it...

Quote

Is this replacing LEGO Ideas?
No, not at all – this is not replacing LEGO Ideas. The Innovation Intake Portal is in fact a very different thing – here we expect fans to submit innovation ideas that are NOT specific LEGO models. If you have ideas for LEGO models, then LEGO Ideas is your place to go.

What ideas is the platform made for?
Pretty much anything other than a LEGO set (again - for LEGO models, please stick to LEGO Ideas). It could be a new physical or digital experience, a completely new way to play, a new platform or channel of engagement. Maybe you’ve already built this idea and launched it, or maybe it’s just an idea in your head – if you think it could become a cool LEGO product or experience, send it over and we’ll evaluate it.

What ideas did you receive so far?
We received quite a lot of cool ones and we’re working to figure out how we can develop some of these. Some high-level examples of submissions are ideas for mobile games, new digital experiences, board-games, events, even some cool in-store experience ideas, so that’s really cool. If you have anything you want to share, then go ahead and we’ll be in touch.

Anything that doesn't fit into the criteria for LEGO Ideas like LEGO underwear, edibiles, etc.

Hmmm, perhaps this is another new initiative to come out of the Lead User Lab??? :shrug_confused:

The Brick Fan - LEGO/Tongal Beta Tester for New Project

Quote

The LEGO Group and Tongal are seeking members across the AFOL communities to join our beta tester group to explore a new and exciting project. We are particularly interested in working with AFOLs with creative backgrounds in writing, animation, illustration, design, art, editing, and brick building, though we are also open to other occupations and hobbies as well.

Beta testing can be done remotely from your home and will run over an 8-week period, from April 15th to June 19th. We estimate this will take about an hour of your time each week for 8 consecutive weeks. However, you are welcome to explore and engage with this project as much as you like.

To join our beta group, you must be 18 years of age or older. In order to get an inside look at this exciting project, we’ll ask that you sign an NDA and our Terms of Service as well as attend a one-hour onboarding livestream with our team to learn more about the tools you’ll have at your disposal for providing feedback.

If you’re interested, let us know by sending us an email at beta@tongal.com!

Further information will be available to those who sign up.
