This scene made up part two of my entry for the From Field to Goblet category of the Colossal Castle Contest XVI. Credit for the swan design goes to Steven Erickson. See part 1.

As the apples are picked, full barrels of the tasty fruit are carted back to the farm where they can be processed into cider. Both Eryl and Elise have a grand time seeing more of the fields and livestock as they escort the cart. Their dogs are also greatly intrigued by the various new animals to investigate, much to the amusement of their young farm boy friend.

Don't know if I mentioned this before about this MOC but I really like that cut-away lily pad!   Definitely need to use that myself someday.  The dark green on the floor complements the dark tan really well and the stone wall separating the pasture from the road looks very natural!

Nice little scene soccerkid.  I like the way you sloped the land.  The fencing for the cows looks great.  The little water feature in the corner is a nice touch with the lilly pads, swan, and frog.  The whole build looks very natural.

Nice landscaping SK.  The pond is my favorite part and I'll echo Kai's comment about the lily pad.

Seeing the grey horse reminds me how nice it would be to have more than 3 colors of the modern horses!

I saw this in the CCC when you first put it out, and it's not less appealing now.  The dark tan/dark green are superb together, and you managed to get the colors set apart further by including the dapple grey horse.  The pond is great, and I like how you put varied color under the trans blue to signal depth and growth of flora in the pond.  Ordinarily I'd be a little confused by huskies in this scene, but then you remember they're from Mitgardia, so it makes sense in context.  Great job!

Thanks Geneva! Dark green is really nice in that it works well with a wide variety of colors.

Thanks! And yeah, more horse colors would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Grover, and yeah those huskies are family pets, so they're usually around in builds featuring Eryl and Elise :classic:

I love the colors in this build.

The fence surrounding the cattle and the foliage both around the water and in its surface are spectacular.
But building that goose must have been a task. Haha. It's awesome and really clever!

Cheers!
