Driving newer turntable with worm gear

Recommended Posts

To allow for an improved & secure mounting when using a 1L worm with a Z60 turntable a new part required.

Similar to a LEGO Technic Cross Block 2 X 3 with Four Pinholes (32557)

New part required:
Cross block 2 x 2 with three pinholes, with all holes facing same way.

I am sure this would also be useful elsewhere in dealing with the half stud offset often required when mixing studded and studless technic parts.

A bit like those cumbersome alternatives ? :)

Thanks - Looks good
Now tested and the first (L) version works best & is stronger.

The 2L  axles in the second version (R) foul the turntable gear ring.

Why not just turn the turntable with a gear and turn that gear with a worm gear?

I guess that could work, although it would depend on the actual use (in my specific usecase it wouldn't, at least not in any reasonable way).

Had also thought about that solution but adds complexity & more friction into the drive.
