Hi guys I am super new to Eurobricks but have spent quite some time on Lego Ideas recently!

Have a look at my newest build: "The King's Castle!"

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2b61f410-1199-4022-bdbc-3ba34941385b

I would really appreciate any kind of feedback :)

I think it looks great! It may be a good idea to tile the floor though.

Thank you! Yeah tiling the floor was one of the points I sadly had to scrap from my to-do list because I had to stay below the part limit of 3000 pieces :(

Congratulations again @povoq on reaching 10k supporters!

The next review period could have the most projects coming from a single theme in the history of Ideas. There are several Castle projects that are pacing the reach 10k in the next few weeks:

The King's Castle by BrickHammer

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2b61f410-1199-4022-bdbc-3ba34941385b

webp

Fantasy Castle by LEGO Monkey

webp

The Tavern Under the Snow by Lego_Is_Art

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1a332343-0a29-4f8a-adeb-761836aa903f

webp

Please give these projects a boost to get them to 10k as well:

Medieval Marketplace by DominikQN

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/71efca0f-11ae-4695-8139-2825c891770b

webp

Medieval Harbor by Namirob

As far as I can see, Castle is now far and away the most popular category on Ideas. This is great news for those of us that are anticipating a fully-fledged return of the theme. Between the 90th Anniversary vote, the Blacksmith selling out in mere hours and the incredibly strong numbers on Ideas, we're making it clear to Lego just how popular Castle is.

The Kings Castle by BrickHammer is so good I hope it becomes a set very similar to its submission.

@povoq your build is so good! I’d buy that in an instant.

a tad shame Lego releases little castle content these days, I’m starting to want some more castle content. I think Lego should release a new evergreen theme under a “fantasy” label. Castle, Pirates, and Elvish non license sets could be released this way. Sets with mermaids, dragons, elves, castles, fortresses, island fortresses and mythical creatures can all release under a general fantasy line and it can have a rotating center of focus. Some years classic castle, other years pirates and other years more whimsical sets. Just an idea, probably won’t happen. But this could get many sub themes that currently don’t receive any type content back on shelves.

Just logged into LEGO Ideas to support that lovely medieval harbor only to realize I already had! I don't log into the Ideas website that often, but it's a relief to know that past-me was just as impressed with that design as present-me (and that I'm not as out of touch with current projects that could use my support as I might've worried).

It's interesting to see that it and some of Namirob's other MOCs on the site use a similar style of roofing as the set version of his Medieval Blacksmith project… makes me wonder if his use of that technique in later MOCs influenced the designers in the choice to use it for that set! It wouldn't be the first time that an Ideas set took inspiration from stuff the project creator had built besides the project proposal itself… similarly, the "turtle" robot in the Exo-Suit set was directly based on some of Pete Reid's other iconic Space MOCs.

BrickHammer's King's Castle is a lovely build too, but I was very disappointed by how sparsely furnished the interior is, especially considering how spacious it is. I feel like in particular, the dungeon could have been made smaller, and some of that space and/or the space behind the armory could have been used for other important features like a stable, kitchen, and/or guards' quarters. Plus, compared to the lower level, the upper levels feel oddly cramped, considering that they're where the royal family and other higher-class castle denizens would presumably spend much of their time.

It's a real shame, because as much as I love the project's brilliant architecture and landscaping, this is the sort of thing that's kept me from putting other "king's castle" sets (or Castle/Kingdoms sets in general) from Fantasy Era onward onto my wish list.

Hi!!, this is my first LEGO IDEAS project, "Sorcerer's Tower", a beatiful and detailed tower with a workshop in the top floor, I hope find some support here, where you know how to appreciate this kind stuff (its being complicated, even being a high quality product)

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7eb2cb1c-c350-4dc5-b23e-c43f75c4bf32

The accessories and ghost function alone sold this to me!  and the tower room interior is very nicely detailed. It looks exactly how I'd imagine a sorcerers tower to look. I don't really log on to support ideas much... But just had to for this (and the below one, although turned out not to need it!). Got my support!

Went to support this just to realise its already at 10k! What a beautiful set! With an awesome opening feature, great interior details with each room, nice little treasure trove on the ground level. Such a fantastic set!

I haven't seen the Norman Medieval Inn posted here yet, here it is: LEGO IDEAS - Medieval Inn it is by: lego_fan_uy

It is excellent - especially the historical elements: the Norman shields and use of Norman style helmets, and heavy stone architecture.

That's a really nice looking model, and it looks the right sort of size for a set - it's not too bloated on the details. Fingers crossed it makes it!

I'm plugging my own project here: The Medieval Butcher

A lighthearted and imaginative build that introduces the new building technique of the "thatched roof". I've gotten over 600 supporters in one week, thank you! Please help me keep momentum to reach 1000!

Please support the project on LEGO Ideas here: https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:be447ef0c1e949e0b1274fed3f0fd022?s=m

As above i'm also here plugging my own project... sounds bad but In my defence thanks to lockdown and kids isolating with my parents i've had time and space to play with the lego I've been hording in my loft so normally I don't have any time to do this sort of thing (waiting for the kids to old enough to play with proper Lego!)

If you haven't already, please help Jonas Kramm over the line. He only needs a handful more supporters for his wonderful Viking longboat:

He's done it. Jonas' longboat just achieved 10k votes on Ideas.

I'm posting this here because Lord of the Rings is part of the Historic Themes, and this is a Caslte/Historic themes support thread right?

This is definitely the right place, and yours is definitely a great build. It's a deviation from the Rivendell we see in the films, for sure, but it makes up for that in the quality of the build. You've detailed the buildings and made the trees very cleverly given the small scale of the model.
