Spud The Viking Posted January 21, 2019 (edited) Medium Factory: Footprint 1024 studs in Spudkirk The newly declared settlement of Spudkirk was still in it's humble beginnings. One necessity was the supply of wood and lumber for fuel and building materials. A small camp was set up on the beach, with hewn trees brought to be processed. Roadmonkeytj Posted January 22, 2019 Nice little scene! I think the only improvement I would have included would be a horse dragging a log to the camp.
Kai NRG Posted January 22, 2019 Great use of wedge plates to give the ground a more organic formation! Nice job showing the wood in different stages too, and I like the use of tan for sawdust and cut ends!
Professor Thaum Posted January 22, 2019 This saw is well thought !!
Bart Posted January 22, 2019 Good job, I like the tree stumps in the corner, and that red axe positioning.

Thanks! Good idea, that would add a bit more realism On 1/22/2019 at 1:09 AM, Kai NRG said: Great use of wedge plates to give the ground a more organic formation! I basically used all of my dark tan wedges I thought the sawdust might look too much like the surrounding sand, but clearly it worked out okay On 1/22/2019 at 7:59 AM, Professor Thaum said: This saw is well thought !! Thank you! I don't have the proper saw utensil, so I had to improvise On 1/22/2019 at 8:06 AM, Bart said: Good job, I like the tree stumps in the corner, and that red axe positioning. Thanks! Captain Dee Posted January 24, 2019 Viewed from the top this seems fairly simple, but it's a nicely detailed little scene. I think tiles look better on the stud ends of logs if you have them. The brick-built saw is nice in place of the actual accessory, and I like the style ax the worker is carrying vs the one nicely propped on the stump. The dark tan area really makes the work area stand out.
Elostirion Posted January 25, 2019 Really nice scene with lots of cool details. Well done!
Ayrlego Posted January 27, 2019 I like the both logical and humble beginnings for the settlement and what better than with a logging camp! For a relatively simple scene I think the ground texture is perfect and the attention to detail with the different shades of sand and wood really catch the eye. Great work!
