[COR ML] The Devastation Of Oldtown

It was a sunny morning in Mesabi Landing on the fifth day of the first month of 619. There was a stiff breeze in the air, but the sea was calm.

The WTC fleet had left the harbour to practice some maneuvres on the far side of the island. The harbour was empty, except for some fishermens boats.

 

Suddenl the earth started shaking... to stop as suddenly as it had started. If major damage had occured, nobody noticed it yet - some pots fell off cupboards, some books fell off shelves. Nothing to get worried about.

 

Until the ocean pulled back from the shore...

 

But the water returned.

 

As if it was Poseidons wrath in brick form, the waves crashed ashore, washing over the quays and into the oldest parts of Mesabi Landing - Oldtown.

 

The water ran far into the settlement, destroying much of Oldtown in its wake. Some buildings that were only damaged a little by the previous earthquake were now washed away. Others defied the waves, but stood heavily damaged.

 

Other parts of Mesabi Landing were damaged by the waters as well, but Oldtown might be lost.

Reshaped? Rebuilt? Only time would tell...

An attempt to put this event into bricks.

In the story me and @Mesabi came up, Mesabi Landing was hit hardest around its harbour. Buildings like the WTCM Office (directly at the harbour) were destroyed - there will be no WTCM this month. Other buildings from the beginning of the settlement, like Fort Agravia or the Library of Learning, were heavily damaged. You can expect all of them to show up in some form during the Mesabi Landing Rebuild!

A very good microbuild! You captured the feel of a tsunami! My only criticism is that it would have been nice to see the actual wave; now it's just before and after.

The third shot is supposed to show the actual wave hitting land. As cool as stuff like this looks: this is just not a realistic depiction of a tsunami. Check out this video for the "biggest tsunami caught on camera" for some realistic footage.
