The gamers, who love to play adventure and fantasy role playing games of all types:

Here the gamers are enjoying some dungeons and dragons:

The hydrologists and those down on their luck:

The hydrologists met at community college and have been a team ever since researching inexpensive and efficient methods of water purification for impoverished areas:

The angry rich couple and their no-good son. They wanted to purchase these buildings so they could decorate them but not live in them and then get a tax write off but the landowners wouldn't have it.

The first floor of the Adventure Cottage is where the face to face turn base role playing adventure games take place:

The online gaming champion has decided to use her prize money to help out the local homeless by giving them a feast:

The second floor of the old temple building is where the hydrologists do the bulk of their work:

Its a bit tight and crowded but they manage to get by:

At some point the buildings stairwell collapsed so ladders were put in but the hydrologists don't mind as its a good all around exercise:

The husband and wife food truck team. Since gamers gotta eat but rarely want to travel far from their games they can call up a snack food truck. Cupcake Castle Caravan and Stronghold Snack Supplies are only a phone call away offering al a carte cupcakes and ice creams. Choose your cake and frosting, cone type and ice cream flavor:

Delightful, and so much creativity throughout!  Nice character designs, fun story elements, and great concept overall.  And then things like the food trucks thrown in - unexpected extra fun.  Great execution with the build quality and technique in general, too.  :sweet:

Beautiful stuff! I love the exteriors of both of the buildings, and the little details on the gamer's house such as the dragons above the door and the pieces used on the front of the converted church are simply stunning! I think my favourite detail is all the junk stored under the first floor staircase int he gamer's house. I'm curious to see what all is crammed back in there, because I see a dragon on top of a chest, but I know there's more back in there!

I love it, great stuff!

Whoa, this is all just too much to take in... :oh: ...both inside and out, this is one eclectically stunning modular! The exterior color choices, the foliage, the detail-jammed interiors, the eclectic occupants, those bonkers food trucks...

I mean, DAMN.  :grin_wub:

I love the colour scheme of the left hand building. The orange window surrounds look great next to the dark green walls. Also the roof tiles look really effective and the whole thing is jam packed with so much detail inside and out. As usual you have brought this model to life with the humorous and creative backstory.

...And, I almost forgot, the vehicles look great too! :classic:

Um...wow! This is great. That roof is amazing. As someone who doesn’t really care about interiors...yours blew me away. As a fan of both adventure types(but replace D&D with Warhammer 40K and we’re in business), I’d be a frequent customer for sure.

And that dark orange hair/beard combo works really well.

That's mesmerising! The right façade is so out of this world, but you've somehow managed to make it cohesive with the absolutely beautiful left façade. There's countless brilliantly executed brilliant ideas in and out; my favorute's the tree outside, which breaks the clear division between buildings but makes it all more cohesive. I might have to take an idea or two from you! Awesome work!

I love all of the quirky details of this MOC. The seemingly random mix of hydrologists, gamers, evil land barons, and food truck vendors go together wonderfully. Fantastic job!

Wow!! The building is stunning!! I really like the details of the grey section with the combination of stonework and plants (the roof texture is great too!!) As for the food trucks they're certainly different!! (The cupcake and ice cream "warriors" are very clever!!) The best part for me though is all the detail you've put into the building interiors  (it's not often you see hydrologists in a build!!) and the back story you've got going on is very interesting!!

Excellent stuff - thanks for sharing!!

This is an awesome build, with a great story to go with it!  The gamers house is my favourite - love the colours, the trim in the facade and the front entrance.  There are too many great details to list them all, but the ones I want to point out are the D&D table, tree and castle cupcake.

This build is full of creativity and details! Great stuff!

I really would like to know how what your setup and camera settings are for taking pictures and whether you do some adjustments in Photoshop afterwards as the quality always amazes me. :)

Thanks Peedeejay. As far as the setup and equipment its very basic: typical backdrop roll but the results are mostly from using bounce flash off of the white walls and ceiling. I also set up a second white backdrop roll off to the side to use as a big bounce card (cause sliding mirror closet doors ruin everything). 9 year old Canon DSLR, 16-35mm and 50mm (and also reverse-mount the 50mm for 'macro') and an older model canon 'flashgun' angled to the side/back/up. Its just a single "strobe" if one can even call it that. Settings are generally 1/200, f/9.0, ISO 800, ETTL the flash metering at +1. Adjustments in-post are all very minimal in Adobe Camera Raw (from Adobe Bridge): small levels adjustment, lens corrections and very light shadows/blackpoint adjustment. Photoshop is only used for resize, sharpening and JPG conversion. Thanks again!

Wow thanks for sharing Digger of Bricks. That is such an honor. I've been reading them for years but never thought I'd have a build featured.

I saw this on TBB recently, but seeing it again here was a real treat. You've certainly packed a lot of details into a relatively small space. The building interiors are all wonderful (the rug on the bedroom floor is a nice little touch) but the façade is stunning. Amazing work
