Trekkie99 Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Has anyone ever attempted to make an electrified third rail add on for the existing train system? Something that would stud down onto the center of the track, and then a special bogie would pick up the current and deliver it to the motor? dr_spock Posted January 9, 2019 Would that be similar to the 12V system of power rails down the center of the track?

XGBC Posted January 15, 2019 you could just buy some center rails and add them to the powerfunctions/9v rails the curve radius is the same Hope i helped XGBC
Matt Dawson Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) @LegoMonorailFan I could see that working if you modified the track and fitted modified 0 gauge fishplates to the sleepers and threaded rail through them. Someone did something similar to make their own custom radius track. Doing overhead centenary would probably be a lot easier though (less parts to modify). Lok24 Posted January 16, 2019 That's possible, but not simple. The contacs must be higher then the rails, but the contacts not be higher than the rails. That' a bit difficult in case of switches, where the rails cross the track.
