If series 2 has FB characters I also hope Nicholas Flamel is included, he has a small role but the connection to the original series makes the figure more desirable for me. (The stone should be the same classic gem as always)

A young Newt in Hogwarts uniform is also a good choice!

I don’t think Igor Karkov should be in the CMF however. I do want a modern update however I expect an updated Durmstrang Ship is likely in the pipeline. It would be the biggest GoF-specific set remaining to do, and could be as big as the Hogwarts express set if Lego wanted (pirate ships are popular).

If I take 75958 as inspiration I would expect: Igor Karkov, Viktor Krum and Karkaroff's aide all in their ‘arrival’ clothes. Assuming Rita in the CMF Barty crouch Sr would be a sensible throw-in to complete the GoF cast.

Being on the lake also opens the excuse to add some lake task figures too...

I think there's a good chance of either 2nd Task Fleur or Cedric being in the CMF too. Probably Fleur with a Grindylow (similair to Baby Groot) and Cedric with that Bubblespell as accesories

I’d personally rather not get a 4th Cedric or Fleur when there are so many characters we haven’t had at all yet.  I also don’t think we’ll get any more specifically Goblet of Fire figs or sets, they seem to be doing two books per year.  Previous HP runs fizzled out on sets from book five onwards so it would be great to see brand new scenes such as the ministry, grimmauld place or astronomy tower.

Sorry for OT and the late answer

No problem and thank you for answering. :) I tried searching for the info but couldn't find it. A real mixed bag then, but HP doing the best out of all themes, even beating Star Wars and Marvel. As a Star Wars fan that still makes me very happy because I am loving this theme. I just caved to nostalgia and won an auction for the Fluffy piece from 2001. Really wanted the Forbidden Corridor set as a kid and never got it, so I told myself that getting the old Fluffy couldn't harm as it will still be a while before Lego come back to Philosopher's Stone, if at all.

I definitely agree with you. It would be great if the theme stays strong for years to come so the can swing back and do things like the 2nd Task, Shrieking Shack, Chamber of Secrets and Forbidden Corridor. But ultimately, all of these sets that are ‘missing’ were done by Lego over a decade ago, and for the immediate future I’d rather Lego focus on making the sets for movies that never got proper attention back then. The highest sets on my wishlist for next year are Grimmauld Place, a Hogwarts set featuring a DA meeting (with plenty of uniform torsos and hopefully some patronuses), and Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes.

By cat hair piece, do you mean the mold they used for the '66 Catwoman?

also I was at Peak of geeks and I found a hog warts castle on 50% reduce. Anyone else seeing this at a better price, because it's not bad?

Not bad? I never find anything with a discount higher than 30%, I'd buy it

If they had to include either Second Task characters or Third Task characters I honestly don’t know which I would prefer. We need four Second Task variants and o my two third Task variants so I would prefer if they just made a Second Task set eventually and included Third Task Fleur and Krum in the CMF series

I also bought Fluffy this year  They will probably make a set with Fluffy in the future, but I am not so sure they will make a new mould :sceptic: Maybe only made of bricks or a moulded head piece.. I Lego decide to make a new and updated mould I have not lost much anyway

I prefer if the task characters stay out of the CMF, since I want some new figs there..A merpeople fig is fine, but not the champions. The sets also have a mould budget and since they do not need to spend it on the basics stuff anymore they can make some second task moulds in the set instead..

100% this. The Third Task would be a very boring set even if it came with all four Champions. We only need two and already have the Cup. Stick Fleur and Krum in the CMF.

The Second Task set, if it ever is made, should have the four Champions (Krum with shark head, Cedric and Cho with bubble charm prints and Harry with Gillyweed prints on the reverse of their heads) and their four Companions (Sleeping reverse face prints) . That's already eight minifigs, without any Merpeople or Grindylows, or anyone in the clock stadiums, which would be a possible place to get Crouch Snr or Karkaroff who we haven't got before, amongst others.

The only second task mold we need is a Grindylow (though that most likely wouldn't happen as their part in the movie was incredibly small and requires a new mold) and maybe some new parts for the Merpeople, but they can easily be made with existing pieces. Everything else already exists, even Krum's sharkhead (Atlantis head works fine imo)

It‘s a good mould, but it‘s a specialised head and thus doesn‘t allow for a ‚transformation‘ feature like the 2005 version of 2nd task Krum. They could always include  a second head Hidden Side - style, but I think they‘d probably go for a different solution if they ever re-released that version :classic:

This is why I thaught about sticking some of the figures in with the galleon...

It’s a potentially efficient solution to both problems:

2nd task: 4 minifigures rescuing another 4 minifigures from more minifigure antagonists in an uninteresting environment. With only the minority antagonist(s) being truly unique. Also the build itself would be very simailar to the DC set 76085 which remained on shelves in the U.K. for ages (it’s boring).

And on the other end of the spectrum...

Durmstrang Ship: a large, expensive, colourful, detailed and eye-catching build with only 3ish naturally associated figures.

Seems to me it would be economical to overlap the two:

Do a smallish ‘2nd task’ set like the original with Harry (flesh flippers), and Krum (shark head) with a merperson and the two sleepers.

Then put everyone else in with the Ship: Cedric, Flur etc, even Crouch Sr who could be standing an a miniature spectator stand.

It makes little sense narrative wise but makes sense to me for cost, figure distribution etc

(sorry for the long essay)

How would people respond if LEGO used the bubble helmet used by Sandy (Spongebob) for the bubble-head charm?

Quite a good list :), but I would drop Quidditch Cedric for a new character such as Moaning Myrtle, since you have already included the other ‘girls bathroom’ figures.

However I understand that the real purpose is to get the hufflepuff team outfit ;)

I think Myrtle would be better for a COS set, especially since she doesn't require any new molds and has no interesting accesories

I have seen the sets preliminary.
They look super good and I will buy them all.

As usual, I ask please not to ask me pictures, I don't wanna break the forum rules.

Can you tell us if you saw any HP/FB sets or place-holders for new sets in the 1HY catalogue?

Thanks for the info :classic:
It is a little surprising that Lego do not want to make more waves per year, but I am sure they have thought it true and decided that it is better to keep the successful recipe with one wave (more or less) going. Instead of risking to flood the marked with sets.. WW theme is something very different than e.g. city were most buyers are kids and every year new kids are old enough to want the police-station. So Lego can make a new one every year because of the high turnover of fans within the theme. In WW on the other hand, there are fans in every age group and a lot are fans for life, then it do not make any sense to make a new e.g. great hall every year since 75% of the fans have the set already. Then it is probably better to have the old sets a longer period for sale so new fans can buy it and make one solid wave of new sets every year for the "old" fans.. It is better to get one wave every year the next 10 years , then 2 waves a year for 2 years

Do you happen to know what minifigs are to be included in the sets?
