Yeah, we have two Minifig-scale Y-Wings already, but a new one like this would be fantastic. Tarfful Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) Great find! I think I'm in love. A Clone Wars era Y-Wing=awesome! The bubble turret on top is very reminiscent of the bubble turrets on the B-17 Flying Fortress used by the US during WWII. The ship itself looks way more sleek and smooth, which I also like, if not a little stubby. The only thing I can say is please TLG make us one! Trudop561 Posted April 4, 2008 The clone wars tv series will continue in 2009. It is sure that lego will release new CW sets. I had not the chance to get the actual y-wing (not enough money) but if this one is one of the future lego cw line, I'll get it for sure! His look is great! Deinonychus Posted April 4, 2008 What's fun is that I can now take a bunch of panels and such and take a run at my UCS Y-wing to make it up like the CW era one. I've always kind of wanted to convert it to look like a "factory new" Y-wing like in the third image, but that's just not different enough to bother with. Nice ship and all I guess though I prefer the OT version, but it would be a useless space filler in my opinion. If anything, they'd introduce the main ships that really re-enact the stories, and I haven't heard any media attention to this ship whatsoever. Palin Jax Posted April 11, 2008 Has anyone noticed that the ion cannon is a bubble? Can you say 2 yellow pilots and an astromech droid to boot. Also, with the rear of this "republic" era Y-wing, it might be possible to adapt a rather large compartment back there, since the primary engines are contained on the sides. Come to think of it, it is so appropriate that this ship is trimmed in yellow! I can't wait to see what additional information we will get on this craft, but in the mean time, I think we all need to come to grips that CW is a "bridge" so allot of the vehicle that will come out of it must now blend the PT to the OT... making it the Saga! This entails that all these craft will resemble other craft we already have in our respective fleets, however, we must treat each as unique... I'd nearly kill to get an official Z-95. I got bored MOCing those about 8 years ago *laugh* And after seeing the new image, it makes watching Episode IV a little different. Seeing those stripped-down, junky, antique Y-Wings approaching the Death Star mixed among the "shiny" new T-65 X-Wings really adds more depth to things...I love it when the Prequel Era stuff does that Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I think a cloning center might be likely but I don't think that there'd be 5-10 clones in it. Not if it's a rather small set specifically... It's, the original A-wing design, is accredited to Admiral Akbar. Unless he would have designed the precursor prior to his enslavement! Not that I am saying that I would mind it, but then again, I have the first, and now the second A-wing, and I am not sure how you could make them look any sleeker, sexier, or just plain cooler. But there is that vehicle in ep 3 that Anakin uses from the Jedi Temple to get to the Senate building... and that does have a kind of A-wing look to it! Edit, but I do like your idea!
