Well, I can´t tell much about how true to the lore it is, as I don´t know anything about what is told about this in the books. So far most film/series versions based on books took some freedom though so that is nothing surprising. Personally, as I can´t tell anyways it doesn´t bother me that much. 

Eitherway I would bet it is closer to the original than Amazons Rings of Power.

Honestly it is a bit early to tell. You could easily make a RoP trailer that wouldn't have any glaring issues and we all know how that show turned out. Here, beyond sidelining Helm in his own story, we already could see a few things that honestly have no place being there except to milk nostalgia. The great eagle, the watcher in the water... Also, the bit where Wulf flat out tells Helm he'll kill him? He wouldn't leave alive... Plus I kinda feel giving Helm a hammer is the wrong choice - he was called Hammerhand because he could strike so hard he'd kill without a weapon, but casual viewers will likely connect the moniker with the weapon.

Are those stories really told that extensive that we can tell if certain creatures appeared there? But yeah as mentioned before, noone really would expect the story to keep to close to the source anyways. The question will be in the end how well it would be executed anyways.

Honestly the whole scene was strange. I mean, Helm was hit three times without any guard or anyone at all stepping in. As for the Hammer, you could say they keep on the picture we got from him from the Lord of the Rings Movies ;).

It is less about the stories, more about the creatures themselves. The Watcher was the only one of its kind we saw - plenty debate whether it is one of the Nameless Things found deep below the earth - and having one chilling in some pool in a bright forest feels weird. Meanwhile the Great Eagles - even if largely a taxi service in the books ;) - were explicitely the servants of Manwe (king of the Valar aka gods) and wouldn't be involved in a petty conflict between men.

Well in the end, how many of the potential watchers are that deep into the lore to know those things? A large part of them might watch it because they liked the films but won´t know much about anything aside from that. Anyways, I´ll hope for some more teasers/trailers as we go towards december.

The Hera character does nothing in Tolkien's works unlike in this trailer so the Lore is broken big time.  The war is fought by Helm and his two son's and Nephew.  She has nothing to do with fighting.  The watcher in the water shouldn't be there also the Mumak is unlikely to be there and the great eagle is definitely not supposed to be there.  So yeah it doesn't really follow Tolkiens works.

Well honestly I am not surprised, given she doesn´t even seem to have a name in the books. Well in the end it isn´t really surpsing that she gets a bigger role, though we have to see if she is the only main character, like it seems in that trailer, which really would be a strange choice then, or they will tell the story of more charcters, like they did in the LotR when they partet ways. If that was the case the trailer would be strange then though, so the chances for that might not be that good.

Yeah unfortunately my trust with hollywood and a lot of these show runners and producers is gone.  They seem to care more about themselves and not in telling good stories with good characters but I will see when the reviews start to come out whether this is worth watching or not.  I still would love to get sets from Tolkiens works other than the Hobbit/LOTR.  It would be nice to see some new locations and figs but these people keep destroying Tolkiens work with their own ideas instead of coming up with their own original idea's they use Tolkien's name and idea's to turn out absolute crap.  There are some good art and AI out there of Tolkiens universe.

Don't mini-mod.

The thread should focus mainly on Lego discussion. But since we don't have any new sets or leaks the current discussion works. If we start creating pages upon pages of discussion about media then it will have gotten off track. But so far the comments about media have been minimal (compared to other parts of the forum with similar tendencies).

It would be nice to see sets from War of the Rohirrim but we haven't heard anything or even any rumors of sets.

End of next year, though I wouldn´t be surprised if they would change it to 2026.

Yeah, sadly Sets seem unlikely at this point, for both playsets and a bigger set.

I don't really frequent this thread despite being a huge fan of Tolkien (Rivendell and Barad-dûr are amazing sets though and I'm so happy to own both of them) but I made a little something to celebrate the release of the 2nd season of The Rings of Power and thought why not share it in here as well. I figure LEGO will never pay TRoP any mind so here's a look at what Season 2 Annatar and Galadriel could look like in minifigure form. For those who care about details; yes I did want to use the Rivendell elf hairpiece for Annatar but none of the digital LEGO programs have added it at this time so 2012 hairpiece it is

I use this part in bright light yellow for Galadriel in RoP. She tends to have her hair down and braided at the back, so it is quite close.

Would be a neat piece usage but this figure is based on her season 2 look (picture below for the sake of not taking up unnecessary space)  I also absolutely despise bright light yellow lol so I would never use it either way.

I've only got to episode 3 and she is not battle ready yet! Im enjoying it, but not the breaks having to wait for the new episodes.

I can understand the not liking bright light yellow, some more tan pieces would be nice.

LOTR CMF would be the best.  With all the detail CMFs get I would be there for it.  I have been more conservative in my Lego spend this year but I would buy way too many LOtR CMFs.

I’ve purchased many of the D&D CFMs and I’m not even a huge fan the theme, however the fun detailed fantasy figs in this series look great and fit nicely with castle. Also, they go quickly when put out on the shelves. If they came out with a LotR series I would probably purchase multiple complete sets, also probably way too many but I wouldn’t even give it a second thought. I would anticipate they would also be scooped up quickly. I have seen LotR merchandise like the funko pop minis and those blind bag (ball) weapon-builds (LotR swords) out on the shelves, but sold out, even at $10 each. So I believe there would be a pretty big market for a LEGO LotR minifigure series, that may include cross-over appeal to castle, fantasy and possibly even D&D fans.

The crown, bow, quiver, and hairpieces are ones you can find on PAB and bricklink.  The torso's and skirt/legs are custom renders.  This is a render not a real image.  Not sure about the heads though they may be something that was available
