I didn't like the GWP, so even though I had the chance to buy the set with the GWP I didn't because I thought it wouldn't be worth much! How wrong I was! :-(
sahidko Posted July 3 Has it though? Looking at BL prices they seem to be the same level since release, at least for EU countries.

Axxe90 Posted July 3 I just checked it and saw that in Austria they are being sold for 170-190€!!! That is insane, I'm also selling mine now :D
RichardGoring Posted July 3 I think I might have to sell mine too. It's just not worth it to me and I could get so much more stuff for that kind of money.
mirkwoodspiders Posted July 4 Lowest U.S. price on Bricklink right now is $140. If I knew other sets were coming, and ones with the minifig from the GWP, I might sell it, but I think I'd kick myself if future sets didn't come and I sold the thing.
BJG2411 Posted July 4 Has anybody who has the set and has added extra floors got any parts list or instructions they used to do so? I’ve built the base and am unsure whether to hold off or try and extend!

I’ve built the base and am unsure whether to hold off or try and extend! I've ordered in from BL parts to swap out the brown/tans from the lower tiers for black (ditto any plates of LBG etc for black), parts to change the large LBG rock elements for smaller slope/wedges in DBG. and used the instructions to be able to add in and extend the tower at a few points. I did a mix on the TofO of extending the existing floors (its amazing how adding even a brick or twos height to each of the existing levels keeps the look but add up height overall) and adding new one floors, but for now Ill look to extend the tower about half a floor or so first up. Altair1 Posted July 5 I am definitely not selling mine, it will have a nice place in my LOTR display :-)
Lordhelmet Posted July 6 I am happy I kept and built my GWP. It was a lot of fun building a smaller LOTR set again, and I really like it more in person. looks good between bag end and the black gate on the shelf.
hikouki Posted July 7 There is a leak of Jack Skellington (Disney Nightmare before Xmas) with long legs and arms. I wonder if Lego would re-release Sauron with longer limbs in a future set? Perhaps Lego released Sauron in regular arms and legs as a cost-cutting measure.

Wasn't there a designer interview where they said they tried long legs and arms, but didn't like the look? Or am I thinking of various fan attempts to mock it up and it not working that well? ETA: Oh, and there was a discussion about potentially not doing it because he wouldn't have fit in the throne room too, so it may have just been fan mock-ups. This is my biggest issue with the new Barad Dur set. There is no excuse for Sauron not having the long legs and arms. He’s over 9 feet tall in the movies (the same exact height as the N’avi in Avatar who also used the long legs and arms). I think the only excuse LEGO has for not doing this is because of the throne and the throne room in Barad Dur which would not fit a taller minifigure. I am hopeful that we will still get a correctly proportioned Sauron in another set…

LegoThomas85 Posted July 7 (edited) Here is an update of my modded 10333. Comparison: original and mod It can be easily added by modding a bit of the rockwork. It connects the same way like the upper tower section. I decided to add a balcony to the "door" on the left. Still wip. I need inspirations for the inside. Critics and comments welcome. This is amazing and adds such depth and more detail to what is an amazing model already. I take it this off the cuff and you don’t have any instructions or parts list? Looks fantastic and has a nice inside space. I would put a treasure room or something with all 18 rings for elves/dwarves/men in there! I'm thinking about doing it in the digital designer and putting it on rebrickable, but i have no clue how it works and i've never done it before.
