Bugbot20082 Posted June 2 (edited) Hi I’m in the U.K., I got insiders access and it’s in stock still online but no GWP available it seams… is it worth it trying London Westfield or Battersea Power station to see if they have the GWP in store? kuzyabricks Posted June 2 I think this set is selling on par if not better than Rivendell. I truly think there will be a full line up late 2025 or early 2026. Lego can not be ignoring LOTR money and I’m certain this set’s sales will help. I expect a third D2C next year at the least. A local bricks and minfigs is selling the fell beasts for 200 each. How ridiculous is that?! I know they tend to overprice things but that is mindblowingly insane

I know they tend to overprice things but that is mindblowingly insane I think that a small wave of sets like Indiana Jones would be a very reasonable hope at this point - with rings of power coming out and more films on the horizon, lord of the rings is very relevant and it has an active fanbase with a demand for lego lotr sets that has swelled to massive proportions judging by the frenzy of the last couple of days. Im really hopeful for at least a couple of smaller sets next year!
Lordhelmet Posted June 2 4 hours ago, Darth Shadowthrone said: Im really hopeful for at least a couple of smaller sets next year! Me too, building the GWP reminded me how much I love building small LOTR sets. Like I can sit down for thirty minutes to an hour and build a nice set in the theme (brickheadz are not the same feeling as seeing the fell beast take shape and getting the minfigs then playing with my kids with the characters). As much as I love Rivendell and Barad Dur the long builds are cool but not as enjoyable as a smaller 50-$100 set to me, plus they are harder to get my kids involved with the more complex builds. I would be happy with a small wave like all the other franchise IP seems to get even if it is two or three sets to test the market. honestly the simplest set would be an orc camp reusing their new molds and prints. Like get the four orcs, throw in the accessories (not even printed) then do like a small hut or outpost build, throw on a catapult function and you have a great selling set with minimal design effort. Plus all the prints and parts are currently in production.
Arjo Posted June 2 Only 4 lotr gwp left at my local store… but all the SW May 4th promos! Also, they now charge you for paper bags… the set looks great, very imposing, but I have bought more lego than I should have for the whole year already so I resisted the temptation and gwp fomo. Enjoy it you guys who swung for this bad boy!

upliftingbricks Posted June 2 This feels a little bit of a stretch (and it might have been proven incorrect elsewhere) but I saw a comment on the 'Clown" IP set on r/legoleaks which was posted on insta by TandNBricks with clouds that look like Simpsons clouds which makes alot of people think its a Krusty Burger set (Clown codename seems too on nose for that to me as codenames usually have no affiliation with theme/set as thats the point of a codename). Anyway the comment posted TandNBricks Aprils fools post telling people to decide whether the below list is a joke or real Simpson will return Horizon isnt a one off LOTR will return in 2025 Pokemon is coming Endor is next mbs Indiana Jones will return It's heavily rumoured that a Lego Horizon game is in the works and likely will mean sets based off it and if (BIG IF) "Clown" is Simpson related that makes first two real so might mean that all are actually real and was a very early tease to them all. Even if true could just mean another giant set or a wave of sets, who knows. I know @TandNbricks is on eurobricks so maybe he'd like to confirm or deny each point on list
Lordhelmet Posted June 3 Finished the build, it is awesome. Way cooler in person. Here are some thoughts. Sauron minifig is great. I wouldn’t mind if they did a second age set with isildur and Sauron with the big legs but our first Sauron is great. I don’t mind the one piece helmet (two would have been better but this one is good). love the tree/shire burning, the throne room was mine and my kids favorite part (and the door, my kids loved the door, the spider, the hidden rings, and the food with the cook) The eye is excellent! It is really impressive. i like the coloring at the base and around the eye, I don’t care for it in the middle tiers. I also don’t love some of the rock work colors (I would have leaned into dark grey and light grey without the tan - maybe a dark brown would have worked here for some accents) I didn’t love the big rock pieces at first but they grey on me and I think it was the right choice. The minifigs are great (I’m including Sam and Frodo here because of the helmet mould). I cared the least about the mouth of Sauron because of how similar it was to the one I have (and the middle spike is bent - like badly bent to the left). A battle pack and a big fig troll would really populate the set well. I thought the build process was good, not Rivendell good but solid, it didn’t get boring even though some sections had multiple repeat builds. Will want to figure out a way to extend the height by 2-7 bricks. Another section would be too much but a small bump in height wouldn’t be bad - not needed but would be nice. overall great set love a lot of the details. Also the GWP is excellent, and I stand by it makes me want more smaller sets from LOtR.
LegoThomas85 Posted June 3 Purchased it Saturday at my local store in Düsseldorf. About 30 people in line. I was the first one to get it. I have to say i love this set and its nice to be back in middleearth after 10+ years. Finally all my old mordor orcs have a place to stay. One question to everyone who finished building: Bag 9 seems to be missing a trans-orange 1x4 tile. Anyone with the same issue?

PsychoBuilder Posted June 3 I'm making slow and somewhat unsteady on a Hogwarts castle styled Minas Tirith cannibalizing other set techniques. No pics yet (my computer takes ages to render using Stud.io, plus it's been crashing on me a ton anyways on startup), but I have some elements done. I've got the outer wall done, which I'm debating on making black to make it book accurate, plus the frame of the central tower, which was done using stolen techniques from the Titanic frame. The thing's enormous right now--the outer wall uses up 64 x 76 studs, roughly, and it's quite tall. I imported and scaled up a 3d model of Minas Tirith to get the proportions right, and have been using that as a guide, and it looks fairly good with some statuetes on it and the beginning of a mini Grond. My main problem has been finding a way to get the wedding cake shape right, but I think I found a solution tonight--the base of Barad Dur itself. I was initially considering styling it like the old Helm's Deep set, with gaps in-between every layer, then the Captain America shield, but that doesn't quite fit in the standard plane of studs, and then a pixel circle style, which would essentially just be built on an enormous brick, but I think I may have a solution at last. kuzyabricks Posted June 3 Just finished building mine. I have never been this amazed by the sheer size of a Lego set. A bit more boring to build than Rivendell but so worth the money spent

A bit more boring to build than Rivendell but so worth the money spent I'm still building it, but it feels like better value than Rivendell.Slightly repetitive on the first lower 'module', but I appreciate how they broke the build up to negate that a bit. Also switched out Frodo and Sam for my old ones, outfits look more accurate to the Mordor scenes and Frodo's face looks more weary as well and having a scared Sam face. Given the size of it do far, mid-construction, I'm looking at Rivendell and wondering where the extra money & pieces in that set went. (I suppose it had more unique Minifigures and a wider selection of parts & colours) On a side-note, big turn-out for the LEGO store in Southampton, people queuing to get into the shopping center before it opened! Pleased to say I was 3rd in-line, but it didn't look like they had that many GWP. Walked past about 45minutes later and people were still queuing out of the door. Thanks for your tip, I rang them on Sunday when they opened and Westfield Shepherd’s Bush had only a couple left and they had a long Que so no chance, however the store at Battersea Power Station which is less known had a few in stock too and offered to reserve me a copy! So I dashed there in the trian and got the GWP! They also had a large built display of the model but no Minifigures, also it’ was all glued together except the mechanisms, it’s huge in person. , the box must have weighed 6kg by the feel of it. mirkwoodspiders Posted June 3 10333 is on 60-day backorder in the US and is delayed nearly 10 days in the UK as well. Most of the reports at the local level I've read on here indicate long lines for the release at LEGO stores. This is a great sign for demand. Pay attention, LEGO! We would like more, please and thank you.
