[ MOC ] [UPD] Rough Terrain Crane

Recommended Posts

Well, I think it's time for me to release my version of RTC too! This all seems like some spontaneous Crane Contest.

Main differences from 42082:

Claas tires, Full RC, absence of mudguards, horizontally positioned boom and finally real yellow color.

Stickers are taken from some old town sets.

AWD and four wheels steering.

Crane has two independent RC structures: chassis and crane (so, there are two battery blocks)

Driving 2XL                                Rotation XL

Steering M                                 Boom tilting L

Outriggers 2L                            Boom extension Train motor

Two-staged outriggers. Enough robust to look good if you dont try to lift anything.

Two variants of boom extension. It can barely lift just it's own hook. But from another side hook is really heavy.

I hope this is not the last RTC this week :). Here is the video.

Looks great - really love the yellow-DBG livery, and you've managed to give some nice flowing lines to the model. Looking forward to seeing it in action.

Very good build. It looks better in yellow IMHO and outriggers are working as they do in real World (if we ignore hydraulics). As you mentioned it is like rough terrain cranes content with rough terrain cranes mocs piping out every few days.

I was surprised to see this happens in real life too.

If it doesn't bend it breaks, which is even scarier.

Well, it has to bend before it breaks. :)

Well, the photo I have is for multi-section boom, but yes it bends

Honestly I have never paid attention to bending...perhaps is the reason that in ex-yugoslavia nothing worked so there was nothing to see...?

I just wanted to clarify that what I meant with my earlier comment was only that in reality, everything bends before it breaks/collapses.

Sorry, I just picked up last post to comment on bending. Didn't want to contradict your statement.

I see. No worries. I didn't register any contradiction, I just felt that we might be talking about different things and wanted to clarify my comment. Sorry for off topic.

Also, to add to the subject of bending and constructions; Bending isn't dangerous as long as it is predicted and is kept within the specificatons of what the material in the construction can handle.
