Ideas Book 8888 Excavator

Recommended Posts

First topic. Mostly a lurker.

Its not new, or shiny, but it brings back fond memories for me. From the Ideas Book 8888. Something to keep me busy while I wait for parts for other projects. Mostly original, a few slightly yellowed, a few are new. Just for fun, I included a comparison with a 42009. Technic has come a long way since 1980.

I always enjoy seeing builds from the studded era. Really appreciate what could be done with such a limited palette of Technic pieces.

You know.. this would be a great future competition:  Build something that would fit in with the 8888/8889/8890/8891 Ideas books

So.. Studded.. and no parts newer than 1991  :)

Oh.. and great build louisk - but you lose 5 points for using a modern white silicon band!
