Fraunces Posted July 5, 2018 Log of Lothario Fraunces I convinced my brothers and the crew of the ship to go to Île D'Or. The promise of gold, pearls and the beckoning glory upon saving the population of Fatu Hiva was enough to keep the spirits during the journey high. It also was my chance to prove myself as the captain of the Octopus. Days turned into weeks and after a pleasant journey without much trouble we reached the island and anchored the ship just outside the harbor. I send the crew into the town to enjoy themselves and just outside the town center we found a very nice brothel, run by and islander named Mabo. His brothel offered services many colonists and sailors longed for after weeks on sea and therefore his business flourished. This man surely would know what was going on in the jungle, so I asked. Mabo: "Je ne sais pas. Je ne parle pas du monstre. Malheur! Recherche toi-même." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some more pictures: And the inside: Thanks for viewing and C&C is always welcome. Bodi Posted July 5, 2018 Very nice brothel, with all these trees and leaves, the build blends with the surroundings, and great use of this classic baseplate, nice figs selection.
Bart Posted July 5, 2018 Excellent use of the background, i like how the dock comes at an odd angle from the building, gives it a playfull feeling. But also the bar on the other end with the shed full of kegs. I wouldn't mind spending a few hours there :D
Kwatchi Posted July 5, 2018 Brothel my eye - that looks like a Caribbean resort hotel. Nice work.
blackdeathgr Posted July 5, 2018 (edited) A brothel to search for clues? Why not!! WoW! This is great! The build is beautiful and solid and the raised baseplate looks absolutely fantastic (mind that I am coveting that baseplate for quite some time but the prices and the shipping costs due to its size are forbidding). I also like the greenery used as background as it brings this MOC to a higher level! Keep up the good work and good luck at the Challenge! I tried to give this MOC a sunny-jungle/Caribbean feeling and when my white background failed horribly last time to create some ambiance this was a much better option. The baseplate I had lying around for so long and I always wanted to use it once, so this challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity.
