"May Icarus return in flames, and may you soon be freed." She said in a whisper. Mordo approached her from behind.

"I didn't take you for a religious woman, Agnes." Said Mordo

"Mordo, the Mesabi name has always been religious, but not of the order." Replied Agnes.

"Sun and Moon? Or the Cult of Odin?" Asked Mordo

"Neither, we are of the Warriors of Prometheus." Replied Agnes with a bitter smile.

"I thought anyone who believed in such things died out ages ago." Asked Mordo.

"Murderers, assassins, and destroyers are we, Forever we fight, till Prometheus be free." Said Agnes. 

"A clever phrase. But how many did the Order slaughter for your beliefs?" Asked Mordo with a frown.

"Too many."

"What do you even believe in?" Asked Mordo

"Prometheus was bound by Zeus, the betrayer, for giving fire to man. And Zeus's great Eagle tore the liver from man's benefactor every morning, so he would spend every day in agony."

"Zeus tricked man into worshipping him, and his pantheon spent ages toying with man kind, picking favorites, making heroes and villains, and cursing anyone who would not pray to them."

"But Prometheus would have his revenge."

"One day, a comet will streak through the sky, heralding a rise of a hero, one to free Prometheus, and to overthrow the Gods."

"It will be Icarus, rising from a watery grave, here to help fight for death of the Gods."

"There's a phrase we use, 'Icarus Returning, longs for the Deep Places,' to remind us of our cause. But in the meantime, we mostly cause chaos."

"No wonder the Order hates your people."  Said Mordo

"Aye, but enough of the Theological Lesson. You greeted the new captain of the Icarus Returning yet?" Asked Agnes.

"I thought you were!" Replied Mordo

Very nice! The chapel build is great, with the lighting setting the scene perfectly.

 

The following story is pretty cool, giving both another insight into the Mesabis motivation and beliefs, as well as a new religion in BotBS. Very well done!
