This is a memory of my childhood.
Built between 1966 and 1968, these emblematic "Machines" made in England
with 65 tonnes, provided services in practically all the lines of Portugal.
Although limited at 105 km / hour, traction either trains of suburban service, goods, medium and long-term and the prestigious Intercities service.
Of the 67 original locomotives that made up the totality of this series (the
engine material of its generation), the first 10 were manufacturedin England. The others, as included in the initial contract, were made in  SOREFAME, in Amadora - Portugal.
It was a great challenge to make this construction of 14 thousand pieces (7 thousand in the locomotive and 7 thousand in the base) at 1/15 scale.
One of the main ideas was to make the wheels only with lego parts, without using 3D impression or lego motorcycle wheels, the result is a wheel made with 19 pieces.

Wow André,

Absolute stunning, the size, level of detail and colours are spot on.

You can put it next to BricksonWheels his trains.

Sorry to sound repetitive but yes, WOW what else to say for first response.

Incredibly well done, just looks perfect in every detail. Especially like that you stuck to 100% LEGO solutions with regards to the wheels in particular. The track base turned out really good as well, I can tell a lot of time and effort went into this moc and the pay-off is simply amazing.

She does have a rather sad look about her though, not sure if that was intentional or not, still great job as usual.

And for the third time: WOW!

I'm completely blown away, don't find adequate words to express my admiration. Incredible, simply incredible.

Remark: I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to start a thread in the Train Tech forum just to link here.

Incredible build!  This does not even look like LEGO.  Love the colors and the detailing is superb.  Must visit you on FlickR.

Perhaps we could see it alongside a normal sized LEGO train to get an idea of the overall size difference. Also could we have a close up of those wheels, out of the train, so we can see as it is a little hard to  make them out.

But yes, it is a fantastic build and as others have said hard to tell it is made from LEGO at all.

Wow! You really outdid yourself! When I first saw the pictures I thought it was a new creation of @Bricksonwheels ...I would also be interested in the details requested by @Hrw-Amen in his post. My compliments!

Simply amazing creation, I love this kind of locomotive and your MOC is brilliant with the details! Throw in a couple more photos, would be good to the eyes.

Very nice build, indeed!

The first question that came to my mind looking at your photos was: What color is it? Maybe a stupid one, but I can't determine if it's orange [bright orange], dark orange [dark orange] or earth orange [light orange brown]?

Looking at the amount of different bricks you used it has to be orange [bright orange], but can you clarify?

At the front of the engine you used decals or printed elements for the white stripes, right? I would love to see a photo of the front. And I absolutely second the wish for a comparison to a regular train. Is your build 20-wide? :oh::cry_happy::thumbup:

Absolutely one of the best static LEGO models.

Since the scale is about that of the LegoLand trains you should ask for expose it there (and got those special made wheels and motors ..:-))

many compliments

Wow... Beautiful, amazing, stunning... just awesome. I'm a huge fan of the early American diesels This reminds me of the American RS-1 to RS-3 models. The level of detail on this is incredible. Well done.

Absolutely jaw dropping.  A real work of art. It's so detailed and realistic that it's only when you zoom in and see some studs that you realise it's built from Lego.  Amazing!!!
