@Johnny1360 Page 5 contains the part list, showing exactly what it contains in dark-blue:

  • 3x beam 3x5
  • 7x beam 11
  • 1x panel #21 (5x2x1)
  • 1x panel #22 (5x2x1)
  • 1x panel #1 (5x3x2)
  • 1x panel #2 (5x3x2)
  • 1x panel #5 (11x3x2)
  • 1x panel #6 (11x3x2)

It's not very much, but it's a welcome set of extra parts in that color.

That's not what he said. He said it's not MUCH dark blue. As in the quantity of dark blue parts.

You can't. Save your post. After that quote the post you want to quote, and then you need to edit to put the quote above your post. Bit cumbersome, but it works.

Yup, but then the quote will be under your answer.

@Jim Surely you can just quote a post and then when you press save it merges them, no?

Is this string the same one in 42009? A search on bricklink say yes, but the strings I've got from 42009 only measures 29L from stud to stud.

@M_longer Can you check the length of the string in your set? Thanks!

Yes, this discussion has officially just included the question of "How long is a piece of string?".

I am absolutely pumped to get this now! I do believe it is a very-very playful set. Thanks @M_longer for the LDD model!

It is. I still don't like usage of exhaust for steering.

I do like the exhaust for steering, but like mentioned before; it's reversed. And it's directly attached to the rack. I'd rather have some gears in between to reduce and inverse the mechanism.

It is possible to make the steering working in a proper way, but it requires removing those Technic triangles and reinforcing rear part of the frame with different parts, right behind the engine.

Exactly. That was more or less what I was thinking of.

could you please add double wheels at the front and then post image with that solution.

I've added few more parts to front mudguards too.

And few words about the set itself:
Well designed, playable, but two functions  work only properly, but could better (steering works backwards) and forks could move higher than middle of the frame (for example, in last liftarm based forklift, 8416  the forks travels right to the top).

Interesting color scheme (Dark Blue is still not so common in Technic sets). Great base for modiffications (like adding those double wheels, rebuilding the forks, changing steering etc.). Actually, with few tweaks it could be the best Technic forklift to date.

@M_longer first of all thank you for your modification by adding two extra wheels. It looks much better

...and if I may continue you could open new topic 42079 mods and improvements. I can only add that I think 4 cylinder engine could fit inside.

Color combination is great (IMHO) and this is what I think LEGO set should be - good base with possibilities to be perfected when needed
