Still be inspired by other fans' MOC, and kept on optimizing my design, the latest rev14 conception as below.

With piece parts in hands so far, some prototype were built to compare with last one (rev13), given up full studless, make it more compact.

And some more pic of this rev14, to show the pose it could be.

Dear friends, I confessed, after my last MOC revision, actually I still not satisfied with the shape, especial the legs. During the conversation with @Smitt500 and @Reaper, I realized how I lost the spirit of it, and why not give up the ball-joint and combine / ref. brickfanatics’ good idea? Here’s my MOC beyond the final.

And I do enjoy the way how brickfanatics’ design of MF sitting on it, does look great, thus I went further :) I definitely will apply it on more bestride MOC, e.g. 74-Z speeder.

45781785575_1380977570_b.jpg

The most surprised me is, even without ball-joint, benefit by legs multi-rotation directions, it could got one-leg-self-balance to represent RUNNING condition!

45781783615_3b6494e745_b.jpg

Also full-crouching-able, even better, the backrest could put down and fix in to my previous MOC LAAT/i very well.

The latest MOC design piece parts arrived, and during my enjoying the INFERNO SQUAD, the scene of Iden riding AT-RT does inspired me to optimize the rear view of my MOC.

Here I took a ref. on it

Now, we RIDE!

Dear friends, here's my 4th modification of this AT-RT, and will take it as finial. To combine and optimize previous designs, and keep total width with 5.5 bricks.

45387104104_104a86cd8d_b.jpg

Had a fun with Master Windu, who led the charging in TCW S01E21.

31171851937_88a52d9bdd_b.jpg

And only one thing I may further try, is to make some color change ref. the show... piece parts are on the way now.

Dear friends, here's my 3rd trial of this AT-RT, try to catch the shape better and build it firm. (still, previous version was folded below)

31640806388_50aeda7151_c.jpg

Now the driver was set as sitting, and try pivot pins structure for the legs. and tried color scheme of dark grey leader.

44787829344_76a89bb9aa_c.jpg

expanded toward squad.

43695985650_0158f510b7_c.jpg

45513665381_fe04c65602_c.jpg

further more, to compare the crouching condition vs last build (left one), it will show less space occupied.

43695984750_b5b241e4db_c.jpg

with this crouching condition, loading into my MOC of LAAT/i is a fun couple.

Oct.11.2018 updated

Dear friends, since last revision of my AT-RT MOC, half year past and I was still working on polish the design. Now here's my V2 release. And former one could be review in spoiler below.

30300766317_f6f29b5bc6_c.jpg

Still, full crouching function is the target, it will be stored in my LAAT/i and further AT-TE.

44329536455_d1a791dff3_c.jpg

And to represent the running condition, one-leg balance is the other character I tried.

30300759497_714ea6d4ab_c.jpg

You comment and advice are appreciated, for my better polishing of the design, e.g. like @DrMuttonchops suggested, "... to maybe use a slightly longer bar for an antenna?" now I tried with 9322 fishing rod, and it does look better.

Dear All, this's my 2nd topic on EuroBricks, and gonna try GIF on image hosting site.

5/16/2018 update: Got note from my AFOL friend, previous download link involved most Chinese interface, and google drive link was recommended, added to below. And shared on Rebrickable site as well.

5/15/2018 updated: Thanks for your comment, I will build my AT-RT with rev06 (slight modified) and share the the build instruction as below download link:

https://pan.baidu.com/s/1EtHJ5wIEdcMj8f4SiyWQ7g

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1upGceikhZmr07Tylx8_WdBuRjNI3KPZa/view?usp=sharing

And for rev05 "sitting mode", also share my instruction for your interesting, actually, you are welcome to build both of them, and compare. Your feedback and further improvement are appreciated.

During I MOC of republic gunship, I decided to deliver AT-RT by it, just like [the clone wars] S04E07 showed. Referred AT-RT MOCs on EB, most of them are beautiful and capture the features very well, but few could crouch completely, thus, I designed a simplified one, for your enjoy.

Benefit by the application of ball connection, more pose it could be, and even with only one leg running situation, it can find self-balance.

41385323824_0803dd5cde_c.jpg

The only thing confused me is, I drafted 2 variation as following, would like to learn your comments, which one is better fit? I will collect your feedback, and finally publish the build instruction here accordingly.

27234648777_83cf7e70ca_z.jpg

The 1st variation designed driver "sitting" (Rex riding one), compare to DK book, pretty matching, but not as solid as next variation;

27234646987_a10cce91e8_c.jpg

The 2nd variation designed driver "standing" (Cody riding one), a little bit looks like "high sitting" in DK book, and due to more close, so more solid it is.

40298010570_624d012515_c.jpg

Finally, your comment are appreciated, will decide this MOC by your support.

* another color blendent was designed for Cody's 212 battalion

Neat little build! I like the use of mini ball joints and animal feet. It does truly "low crouch"  I don't know how long those hinge plates will last though. they seem to use their stability over time.

Great design!  I agree with Smitty500 on the hinge plate longevity, but that can't really be helped and I don't see other good options that will work at this properly-scaled size.  Nice posing in your photos, too.  Thanks for sharing!

I really like it! Its just the right size, and crouches just as intended, but looks good crouched too!

Id say to go with the sitting one personally. But that's from a lack of playing but displaying perspective. If it was to be played with, I'd go with the standing. It still looks good enough with minifig standing.

Excellent and fun little design! Id say the standing one should be included if the at-te ever gets released. It'd be a neat little addition!

Absolutely fantastic, man! Certainly my favorite rendition I've seen, and one of the most poseable. I'm with Fuppylodders on the sitting model, but really both are great! The only criticism I can come up with is to maybe use a slightly longer bar for an antenna? Other than that, I love it. :)

Thanks for your comment, it made me decided to go with rev06, a little bit less weight need hinge plate to support. And sure, to use brand new 73983 hinge plate is recommended, I will also prepare some more couple of 73983 for spare parts, replace once it got loose.

for easier support and solid connection, I finally go with rev06, but also share the rev05 "sitting mode" building method for your fun, in top main post .

Thanks  for your suggestion, I'm thinking about PN 2569 antenna, but no part in hand, the instruction download link was shared above, you are welcome to build and share your improvement.

Looks fantastic, the fishing rod looks perfect to me! The armor shaping in the front is a huge improvement as well, it looks damn close to the cross-section! Totally amazing.

Damn it looks cool, although the legs do look a bit plain, but I'm not sure if youu can do anything about it.

Grills would look nice, have you tried using the dish pieces for the leg joints?

not yet, do you have any suggest part number of the dish pieces? I suspect you may refer such like PN 6047 and 7048, aren't you? if so, I tried similar method with 30554 linking connection, but the limitation is the folding angle, hardly to make fully crouching. Here's my early version of this MOC

44630435484_c80853284b_c.jpg

Actually, I do enjoy the AT-RT design from @Smitty500 and @Lars MOC,  good shape, only thing confused me is to get more moveable and crouching.

Thanks for your kindly comment, but don't know why, the pivot pins' structure was felt loose than hinge plate, though pivot pins could keep the pose as well.

Looks great! Is there a way to make the front turret foldable though?

I would love to have instructions for this and your speeder bikes too!

Thanks for your suggestion, I tried the folding gun design in my last MOC, and finally decide not to, just post it for you reference.
