Ridiculous as it may sound, I had actually forgotten about this WIP. It has been 2 years since I started this model. At some point it ended up in a box on a shelf.

Out of sight, out of mind I suppose.

I'm glad I picked it up again, I have a couple of Ideas involving new parts that I didn't have two years ago.

Anyway, it's nearing completion, the bodywork is very challenging but I'm getting there.

I had to lose the mufflers in order to have some freedom to build a rear end I liked.

I finally found a solution for the headlights that I'm satisfied with. It's funny how such a simple design could be so effective.

I intend to finish it soon and I have a special feature in mind as a surprise .

Thank you. For now it is just laying on top of the bonnet. But I am confident that, with the wide variety of modified bars and clip plates available nowadays, I will be able to attach it somehow.

I think you might be able to achieve it with some flex tubing and a minifig hand.  You could attach the side mirrors to the minifig hand, then feed the end of the hand into the flex tube.  After that you'd be able to clip the flex tubing first to the roofline, then to a clip #2555, which looks like it could be simply stuck down to the exposed stud you've got sitting below the end of the A-pillar.

As there's not much of the chassis to be seen on the outside, I have made a half bodywork variant.

I think it could use a skirt here, or something to tie the front door into the rear bodywork which seems disconnected.

I agree, even though the details in this car are fantastic, this lacks continuity on the outside.

(Not in the right color yet, I'm out of red curved 1x10's).

Maybe.  Not sure though, still seems there's a few separate parts that don't quite hang tight together.

Fuel cap needs to go 4-5 studs back too.

I have designed two variants of side skirts.

The first one is similar to the one I showed before, an add-on mounted under the chassis.

The second one is a more incorporated design.

There are some gaps in this one that I don't know how to fill yet.

I also added brake and accelerator pedals, it required a small adjustment to the carbon fibre tub.

My next plan is to revise the rear subframe and maybe try some different style bodywork.

I'd go for the first one. The second one breaks the original flow of the design too much imho, first one is more coherent to the overall looks.

I gotta say, although I personally would not make this type of body, it has a very 'own' style to it and the detailling is done almost to perfection.

Don't need to love it to appreciate it...
