[MOC] Micro Forklift & Truck

Here is a little crew!

These two models are very compact, so very simple technically. I wanted to do the same type of model as the little LEGO sets.

The forklift:

The arm can be moved using a worm gear/8t system. The towballs are here to limit the movement of the system.

The fork moves when you turn the 12t gear. There is a pin with friction to keep it in position.

 

The truck is even simpler. It has a steering and the dropsides are openable.

I enjoy these mini-MOCs, mainly since they're the size I usually build. I don't know why, but I especially love the forklift's headlights!

These seem similar in scale and size to the new 42084 Hook Loader, and the 42060 Roadwork Crew before it; do you have those sets? If so, how do they all look when together?

This would actuallly make a terrific official set.  Still dont think a technic moc would ever get accepted on lego ideas, but if one did, I think it would look something like this.

Lovely little creatures! At this scale the number of options is so small and still you managed to make two very realistic models. Excellent work!

The forklift mechanism using the inner piece from the sliding racks is genius. I wonder if LEGO will use a similar thing at some stage?

That little forklift is perfection! Cool pair of builds, I would definitely get this if it was an official set.

Cute, and very well designed! The only part that might need more work is the front of the truck - it looks a bit too flat...

Yes and no. ^^

The rear 12t gear on the roof allows turning the wheel. But you can also move the rear of the forklift and it will turn because the wheel is not aligned with the vertical axle of the 12t gear - as on a floor jack.

Yes I know, but I think at this scale it's not too inconvenient. That gives it an old truck look.

I've done instructions for the forklift!

For this, I used Blueprints, to generate instructions from LDD.
