Cargo Train using Duplo Parts

Recommended Posts

Years ago I found an image of a LEGO coach using Duplo part 2032. Unfortunately I do not find this anymore... So I cannot link to the original author.

I liked the idea very much and started collecting these parts. In the meantime I have a small collection and was able to build a complete train using these parts:

For the bogies I used brass tubes to hold the axles. (Instructions in the flickr album.)

I also found parts 4548 and 4549 in my kids LEGO collection and added some smaller cars:

More images can be found in the album on flickr.

Hope you like it!

I love them! The texture and patterning on those parts is perfect. The only slight issue is the narrowing underneath, but you've married that to the chassis excellently. The underframe detail matches the elegant simplicity of the wagons well too.

I prefer the yellow ones myself; they remind me of Network Rail's MRA side-tipping ballast wagons (Google Images link).

Yes, feel free to use and evolve this design ( and use the instructions in the flickr album) . I'm only "standing on the shoulders of giants" - I have learned so much from the community.

which part is the small bar or hose in the bogie ?

It's a "hose, rigid 3mm" cut to 2L (16mm)
