As an FYI for any users of LPub3D, an update (version 2.2.1) was recently released. This release seems to have addressed issues I had been experiencing with getting LPub3D to successfully render images using "faded" parts in versions 2.1 and 2.2. It appears to have also remedied an issue related to using POV-Ray to render images and POV-Ray is now successfully working for me to render images.

My installation is a Windows 7, 32 bit machine, so you may not have been experiencing the same issues.

The most recent version of LPub3D is available for download at https://sourceforge.net/projects/lpub3d/

Regards,

David

It also feels a lot faster and more responsive to me, but not sure if that's a placebo or not

Hi Greg,

I encountered some of the same problems you describe there too.

Some are solvable by doing things a bit different, some are not.

Did you report these bugs to the developer via Github?

Due to backward incompatibility, I am running multiple local (portable) versions of LPub3D which work fine.

New version 2.3.8 is available. Maybe this helps?

Hmm, I had the same pain in removing version 2.3.7. Finally running 2.3.8 by removing a lot of stuff from 2.3.7 by hand. Now when trying to update to 2.3.9 there is a problem uninstalling then 2.3.8 version...

That is why I do not install, but have multiple portable versions running.

My LDraw stuff is at C:\LEGO\LDraw\...

None in Program Files, etc.

Keeps settings local too, and not in Roaming or registry.

Good idea. Just downloaded the zip file and extracted everything and put in the location of the previous version.

Thanks!
