"So what, just so you can carry her around in your pocket to summon as you wish? You do that and you might as well carry the Pandemonicon itself."

"Err, Euflear?" Lind pointed above them. "He's kind of already doing that..."

"I'm behind you a hundred percent on the safety aspect, but he seems to have been doing a pretty good job keeping that stone under guard, and I imagine most people might have a little more trouble trying to summon a demon out of a card, then a stone made especially for summoning."

Wait, you think the loot in this battle matters? *huh*

At the mention of the forbidden book's name, Arthur suddenly jolts.  "Shame we don't still have Byblos," he says casually.  "As I recall, he was able to seal away demons permanently, if sufficiently weakened like this.  Oh, well, at least the other group can definitely bomb the last Aspect to death and join this fight properly before it's all over."

@Waterbrick Down From reading the previous battle orders, it looks like heroes move to the Center at the end of the round after the Flank is cleared. Is there any chance we can move to the Center immediately after Nazgulie goes down instead? Because otherwise, we may end up missing the end of the fight.

"I know we should have burned all these demonic roots when we had the chance..."

OoC: Thanks for the help covering for me, I am happy to announce that we are home with our newborn, everyone is fine! Happy if someone could suggest a suitable action for Ezeran.

"If we're striking Rosier I can buff us to get people over the threshold and send her packing." Karie remarks. "I'd prefer it personally if this story ended with something other than "and then the heroes used a decamodifier." Not the most impressive ending for the history books, eh, Atramor?" Karie gives Gibbin a confident grin. "Besides, I kind of want to break this guitar over the back of Rosier's overtly large head."

Impressive, I can see why there are those who keep minions at all times.  Vindsval grins as the two impressive creatures leave the mist to join him in battle.

It does seem a shame that after all these years of sending souls to the heavens to nourish my god that his final meal from me could very well be a wilted salad.  Could you not have brought some stouter fair with you beast?  The weeds of the field are no food for a stout horse, let alone the Wanderer.

Attack her my new friends remove this blight from the Path.

Both Decamon Attack Rosier from the Front Row

Shall we continue our duet Mistress Karie?

Vindsval Attacks twice with the Vagrant's Guitar from the Back Row.

I just love this endless debate everyone constantly keeps having! :ugh:

Panda-mon-crom?! "Total" isn't that the name of that book you have? @Alfadas Maybe you should read it or something...

Torald takes a deep breath and steps forward. Guys, maybe I should have told you sooner but I happen to have a Pandemonicon on me. I picked it up a while ago and now it seems to like me. It also talks to me but that's normal I'm sure. Uhh let's see. Okay. Torald grabs the book and opens it up towards the demon. Return to the foul place of whence you came, Demon! Begone from this realm and don't even think about coming back! Hopefully that's enough?

Torald uses the Pandemonicon on the Demon, front row.

Boomingham closes his eyes, angry at having forgotten Torald's book. "If the boy can't send this lady packing I'm with Euflear. No offense to you, Atramor, but dead is dead. Besides that Karie has a point. Reading an ancient book or cutting off a head is a good ending. Flashing the thing with light and turning it to stone... also a good ending, actually. Whatever way gets it done."

I'm pretty sure the Decamon Bag is making use of Decamon Drafter stuff. I'm thinking they work like summons rather than the monsters they are based on - which, based on the basic summon ability, should mean Arachnophobia is a Level 35 dark type and Jun-Chi is a Level 35 light type.

"All right, if you're sure you don't want to use Master's Pandemonicon to stop Rosier, then I'm willing to take my shot."

Stepping forward, Arthur attacks Rosier twice with the Icy Halberd from the Front Row.  If he loses the Icy Halberd, he switches to the Clockwork Lance instead.

OoC: Agreed.

Lind's going to wait on attacking until after Nazgulie's cut down, and they've moved to the Center. I've been RPing about trying to loot Rosier all quest long - probably not likely to happen, since I just rolled two of them, but I'd like to try.

"Kickin' it down the road won't bring back the people it killed. Or the Faerie. If you wanna take your shot to try and feel better, ya' can go ahead and try. But we're doin' what we set out to do."

"Anyone wants to try and cut down this thing before I take my shot, go ahead, long as someone uses an Incense after you're done."

"Count me in..."

Rubbing his Stunned head, Lind waited until Nazgulie was cut down, then joined the other heroes at the Center.

He looked up at the huge demon.

"Been waiting all quest to give this a shot..."

He threw his Steel Knife at Rosier, from the Back Row.

@CMP Could you possibly add an addendum to your order saying Atramor waits until after the Right Flank attacks to Decamodify her?

Not exactly sure how to move between flanks, but order has been finished.

Eric makes short work of the final remaining aspect as the rest of the heroes hustle over to join their companions. Ezeran tosses a fireball at Rosier as Heckz summons a mighty inferno scorching the archdemon with unbearable heat. Germ manages to snag one of the many fungi growing upon the monster as Throlar's guardian angel descends to ensure the heroes final protection. Atramor's summoned demon once more cleaves through the creature of lust as Skrall rips through her plant body with ferocious ursine teeth. Dyric and Arthur both attempt to fell Rosier but are in turn knocked unconscious by the demons desperate swings. Euflear, eyes cold and piercing, loads their handcannon once more with fiery shot. Rushing forward the ex-founder leaps upon the archdemon and unleashes eight consecutive cannon blasts straight into the torso of the devourer of their people. Rosier sways back, a gaping hole in her chest. Benji quickly deploys a phoenix incense, reviving his friends before death can claim them.

"FOOLISH MORTALS! YOU MAY HAVE DESTROYED THIS MORTAL FLESH, BUT THIS IS NOT THE END. NO! MY DARK DRUIDS WILL ONCE AGAIN COLLECT THE NEEDED ESSENCE TO..."

Torald strides forward, his hands clutching a leather tome. He trembles slightly but his voice washes over the cavern with confidence and power as he reads from the pages within.
34997035535_5a52b3077b_s.jpg
"Return to the foul place of whence you came, Demon! Begone from this realm and don't even think about coming back! Hopefully that's enough?"

The tome begins to illuminate in the battle mage's hands as a purple glow begins to fill the cavern. A rift is torn in the air and an irresistible force begins to pull at the shattered frame of the archdemon.

44999797722_052ffb9a9b_t.jpg
"NO! YOU CAN'T! YOU'RE A PATHETIC WORM, A GROVELING MAGGOT! YOU CAN'T LOCK ME AWAY! YOU CANNOT SUPPRESS MY HUNGER!"

Rosier desperately tries to hold onto her material form but is wrenched back to the wretched plane of Azazot with a final shriek of despair. As the archdemon's cries dissipate, a silence fills the cavern as the realization of their foe's final demise begins to settle upon the heroes. The bodies of Kukulkan, Jacq, and Semiramis lie slain upon the ground as Euflear sinks to their knees.

Arthur's consciousness rises from darkness, as one force drags him toward life and another toward the sucking darkness of the Void.  The moment passes, and the Skirmisher finds himself solidly in the realm of the living once more.  He watches the inky blackness recede from his skin, his demonic nature suppressed once more by his latent humanity, and sighs with relief.  Good to know there's a viable... option... for me, should it become...necessary.  The former mage shakes his head virulently, determined to banish the gloomier aspects of his disposition just as they had banished Rosier.  He reaches out, grasping one of his dropped halberds and using it to lever himself back to his feet before helping Dyric and Pretzel back up as well.

"Well.  We've done it.  Unless someone knows where any other archdemons are to go hunt down, I think we're more than overdue to start cleaning up the mess that prick caused.  We meeting up for one last drink in the Hall, or should I just head home to start coordinating the Ziegfrieds' part of the cleanup efforts?"

OOC: Wouldn't say no to that halberd, not that it particularly matters now.  If Arthur's borrowed something from you, feel free to reclaim it; I'll probably go back through the topic in a couple days to track down whatever Arthur's lent out and write it down neatly for posterity.

Now to fulfill my promise, book. Ezeran, Petaldan. You two are amazing friends to have. Take good care of each other. All of you other Heroes, make Heroica great again!

With those words he says to the book. It's time. Let us go. Torald jumps into the rift with the book, making sure to keep his promise.

Noticing to late what Torald was doing Ezeran tries to reach his friend in vain screaming "No, no, NOOOOO! Those realms are not for mortals!! " before slumping down on his knees. Ezeran weeps as the silence after the battle sets in, the tears leaves burn marks on his clothes as a strange red glow flickers in his eyes, unseen by others.

Hoke and Torc pull up short as they both watch the demonic plant crumble into a charred heap then disappear into the rift.  Torc lands soft by Hoke, who unconsciously raises his hand to her neck as they take in the spectacle before them.  He dismisses Zoot's Order, the elongated wickedly tipped spear slowly shrinks to it's small orb size.  Hoke rolls it around about in his fingers and hand, wondering if this was the last time he would wield this fearsome weapon as a Heroican.

Takeing a second to try make sure it was real, Germ didn't want to tricked again. Then Germ grabbed his whip and then tried to clean the slime off the whip (even with fire from the whip). The next thing Germ did was grab the "blades" from Roiser and take a few practice swings before putting them in the loot pile. Their was a look on his face of not that impressive. That is when he saw "Total" jump into the void.

Couldn't he just throw the book into the void? He was never the brightest person around, but I didn't think he was this dumb...

Kiray takes a few ragged breaths as the battle finishes, utterly exhausted and emotionally drained. She watches, stunned as Torald makes his leap. "Well, it's over. Or seems like it." Hearing Arthur's suggestion, she responds, "A drink first to soothe pain, then we can clean up. The city owes us at least a moment's rest."

If Kiray has anything borrowed from anyone, feel free to reclaim it.

"Torald, please don't do anything foolish..." is all Petaldan can say, before the big Barbarian makes his leap into the dark.

Petaldan stares into the void looking utterly dejected, his body appearing to crumble beneath him. Words fail him entirely and he simply bursts into tears as his body slumps into a ball on the floor.

Meanwhile, Pretzel accepts Arthur's hand and, after rising, gives the skirmisher a hug. Somehow it felt the only right response after a battle like this one.

Casting his eyes around, he notices the wailing Ezeran and Petaldan.

"Darn. I mean, it was great when Byblos did it, but when it's a hero...it's different. Poor bloke! I guess in some sort of way, he fulfilled his destiny in doing so or something. Don't know how strong his spirit is for standing a trip like that, but I guess that's what being a hero is all about. Wow! He's a good kid, that barbarian."

Hearing, Germ's comment, Pretzel cats a withering glance at him.

"If Byblos, great scholar that he was, had to allow himself to be swallowed up by the void in order to banish an archdemon, I don't think we had much of a choice here. Though trust heroes to always think of some way of escape. Still, the barbarian clearly thought it his duty to do what he did. I would have wished that someone like you would have taken that role on. Wouldn't you even prefer it there to here?"

Vindsval roars as the heroes are both victorious and cheated of their ultimate victory. He slams a fist into the ground, crimson energy dispersing.

I swore the Wanderer a meal, this is not how this day should have ended.  IT now has the possibility of return.  You foolish Barbarian.

I pray your sacrifice is worth it.  But at least for now, we are free of Her influence.  But, this end only ensures that the hall must stand.  IT must remain.

Let us return to the hall, sort our fates, and discuss our future.  I miss my barrel and the company of friends.

OOC: I would love for Vindsval to end up with that Armor.  I would be awesome for the Witchery way to be part of his end build.

Trust me, I am thinking about it, but I guess, I want some sort of control...Hell, I might just jump in at some point.
