"I'd appreciate that, Brother, thank you."  As he equips the Shadeaux Cape once more, he sighs heavily, overwhelmed by the arguments swirling around him.  He closes his eyes and lets the familiar noise wash over him, resuscitating memories both pleasant and painful as he fails to come up with anything worthwhile to contribute to the conversation.

Atramor nods at Ulric and stands straight. "Head to the western wall and give us five minutes. We'll head to the south and wait for the explosion - shouldn't be hard to spot. Remember, you're a temporary distraction 'til we get a ship, we've got the suicidal heroics 'bout covered for today."

The rogue looks out over the rest of the party, and, taking only a moment for a long sip of the nearest non-empty mug, braces himself as it becomes apparent the party is willing to rely on his plan.

"Hope ya'll aren't expectin' a speech or anythin'. Frankly I think I've heard enough today to last a lifetime, so I'll keep this quick. We all took an oath to protect the lives of anyone who needed Heroica's service, and, well...things might seem bleak, but at the end of the day, that's what we're doin'. Savin' lives. Bein' heroes, the best we can be."

"Everythin's on the line here today, mates. We got no room to fail." He cast his eyes around, at the heroes grouped around the dingy tables planning their last, desperate stand. "This is it. We've got no magic protection. We've got no Hall. Our allies are few. All we have is us. Everyone in this room, and everyone willin' to stand with us today? We're Heroica now. And this is our city to protect. And we're not goin' anywhere. Let's go deliver that message, PERSONALLY."

With that, he whirled around, tugging his hat a little further down on his head, and swung the doors open wide, leading the party south.

Torald finishes his mug of ale in one big gulp. Feeling his barbarian side take over, he lets out a guttural scream as he pats Petaldan en Ezeran on the shoulder, with a look of slight worry and bestial rage. FIGHT FOR VICTORY OR DIE HEROICALLY!!! With that, Torald grabs his trident and follows Atramor and the others.

I don't pretend to have any compunctions that what I'm advocating is good. But I have my priorities, same as anyone, and I stick to them. Like you said, Eubric is my... my home. Perhaps more than you know. Because of that, it will always be my priority. Eubric is at risk, people I put in the line of fire are at risk, and for me, that takes priority. That isn't 'good,' but I do believe it to be right. 

Yes, it's not a choice that should be made lightly. And perhaps I'm wrong to let my bias show so freely. But that's the messy part of heroism, making those impossible choices. If you try to save every person in harm's risk, your ideals will drag you to your death, because we can't save everyone.

The assassin pauses, a list of names weighing heavily on him. He straightens, looking the dwarf in the eye once more, a soft smile growing.

But we do what we can in the moment. I'm going to save anyone I can in that Fort, and my hope is that we will run into and stop Rosier in the process. I don't know if we will, but that is the choice I need to make; if I don't, I'm betraying myself. If you disagree with me, fine. That's your conviction, and you need to live by that. That's all any of us can ask for.

"You know," he said, his eyes still moist, "I'm not the most... stable person in the world, something I've come to recognize recently. I've been trying to deal with it by myself, but it think... I think you can see it doesn't really work like that."

"However," he continued, getting to his feet as he spoke, "this discussion can wait a little while longer. You're right, we can't save everyone, but you're also right in that we have to do something." As he spoke he stood up to his full (though not terribly impressive) height. "And if we can't save everyone, then we can at least avenge them." He nodded to the others. "I'm with you."

"No wonder you're Veterans," Throlar said with a tiny smile, "for all your faults I think you may just be the bravest people here. Good luck, you'll need it."

Having spoken to the veterans Throlar proceeded to replace his Shield of Invisibility and the Lens of Speed Reading with his Weathered Shield and Infernal Armor, before nodding to the door and the heroes about to assault Fort Bonaparte.

"Make yourselves scarce folks, it's going to be loud in a couple of minutes."

Wolfgang members, Orc freedom fighters, Lion Knights, and citizens of the hovels all gather behind Eubric and wave goodbye to the heroes as they sneak south. Minutes later a giant explosion shakes the entire city, dust filling the sky as the reverberations of the planned demolition echo through the streets. From their vantage point south, the Party watches as Paladin soldiers, Town Watch Guardsmen, and even some wyverns swoop into the breach. The sounds of battle begin as the heroes quickly stealth past the Dragon House, a dry husk, then the Chateau Shadeaux, a deserted mansion, between the antiquary, permanently closed and stock moved elsewhere, and at last to the harbor. Resting in the bay, the heroes spot the Flouncy Phoenix, the Magpie, and the Wind Thief. The party figures they'll only be able to make it to one before being spotted by the dragons overhead. As the party draws past the southern tip of Triad Park, two cloaked figures silently join the party.

"Magpie," Arthur opines.  "The Phoenix is fast but has nothing to defend itself with, and the crew isn't particularly experienced compared to the others.  They'll be sitting ducks the moment we get off, if we even make it to the fort in the first place aboard it.  As far as Guts' ship, nice as it would be to bring him aboard again, he's one person and last we spoke he wasn't really feeling the whole fighting thing we do.  Nerwen, maybe, if she's there, but again, just one person.  If I know Captain Ildria, though, her blood is already boiling, and she and her crew probably have a plan already to bust into the fort on their own--we'll just slot nicely into what they're already working on, and I know they can handle themselves."

Arthur gives his fellow Heroes a once-over glance.  "If anyone sees something useful amongst my treasure trove, feel free to borrow it.  I particularly have a loose Diamond if one of our Mages needs it."  So saying, Arthur slots his Hero's Cocktail into the Hollow Blade of his Duplovian Halberd.   "Pretzel," he adds, "I'd be glad to share that chain with you, and I can wear the armor in your place.  We'd lose the benefit of my Prayer Beads (unless someone is willing to give you a Level Up Mushroom), but we'd gain more than we'd lose.  Anyone with a Lance, Spear, or Halberd they aren't using, I'll happily take the spare ranged ammunition.  Also, Atramor, perhaps Euflear could make better use of that bow of yours?"  The Skirmisher considers the rest of the party, but even his skills have limited and he grows mentally fatigued trying to keep track of such a large party.  He settles for offering general advice instead for the moment.  "Anyone has something they can't use, lend it to someone who can, particularly our recruits who don't have a surplus like we do.  We've been fighting constantly recently, so there's decent odds you have room for another Artifact now; wear one.  If someone else has something you could use just gathering dust, ask for it; now is the time."

Chesterine, do you want this sigil? Say, there's no Evokers here... I could probably lend out Tarok's Wrath or this handcannon. Maybe Requiem? Be careful with her, though.

And while we're on the subject of lending Euflear things; Benji, if you're not goin to make use of that Marksman Monocle then I suggest lending it to them, perhaps anyone with a pair of Counterstrike Gloves that they aren't using could lend them to them too, I notice several in this party who have a pair that they aren't using." @Waterbrick Down - Can the Iceborn's Improved Summoning Amulet be used outside of battle or does it need to be equipped during the battle?  Haven't used it yet, ever, and would love to use it at least once.

Don't want to make things ridiculously complicated for you, but Karie should have my Tiny Mushroom: 

Petaldan gives Pretzel his Level-Up Mushroom which Pretzel downs. He then Removes the Duke's Coat of Arms, Handing it to Arthur, and Equips the Soul Link Chain and Prayer Beads.

Pretzel hands Arthur the Bloody Skull Helmet.

"I'm not sure that Duplovian Helmet will be of much use to be honest."
