Xmas Raffle Building Challenge 2017!

It's soon that time again, when somebody sneaks into your home down the chimney and leaves

a lot of presents under the tree, and this is your chance to get even more ......!

This years prizes will be cool & hard to get minifigs manatees as the new tradition goes !

small_tree_3.gif This year the MOC theme is a retake on - Your ideal Christmas tree! small_tree_3.gif

I really enjoyed it two years ago and would like to see new cool ideas & designs!

So build it any way you like and take a pic/screen shot and post it!

Read the rules & post your entry in this thread!

The only rules are:

  • You need to be a member of Eurobricks who joined before the 6th of November 2017.
  • This is a fun thing, so have FUN!
  • The MOC needs to have at least two (2) original Lego pieces in it, NO clone ones.
  • You can build either with real parts or use LDD, MLCad etc.
  • The MOC needs to be new - no recycling here please - just fresh stuff.
  • The entry must be posted in this thread before 10 pm GMT, by the 28th of November, 2017.
  • Your entry must include one image (and only one image) and be no larger than 1000x800 pixels.
  • One entry per qualified member.
  • All members including the Staff can join!
  • Did I mention that you need to have fun?
  • I'm the judge and will randomly draw the winners, with the help of a random generator which randomness comes from atmospheric noise. The winners, six per day, will be announced in a special thread, the advent calender thread, from 1st dec - 24th dec.

As always there will be plenty of prizes to win! What it is you will see later, maybe much later !

I was thinking about this only yesterday... And yet last year's seems so recent.

I may have to enter this year. Time to get cracking (in LDD only, I have no access to real bricks at the moment...)

Christmas trees aren't normally my thing, but building anything is always fun - so why not!

I better get started, it's going to be hard to use more than 2 parts...

CopMike, you forgot to add your yearly disclaimer that as the tradition also says maybe something may go wrong.

Thanks for running/hosting this raffle again!!!!

Don Neimodte trying in vain to get his hovering Christmas tree to grow. Unfortunately, his sidekick Sancho Ponza bought him herbicide instead of fertilizer, and so this tree sprouted yellow roots and will be about as tall as Sancho

Here we go. Anything I build has to have moving parts in it; so here's a diorama representing the corner of my lounge with a tree that spins clockwise, as a train encircles it anticlockwise.

800x340.jpg

I had to build in LDD as I have no access to bricks, but it should be 100% buildable and functional in real life.
I also feel it needs demonstrating for full effect, so here's a poorly-made .gif: https://media.giphy.com/media/3o6fJ9pg7CEmiaer4I/giphy.gif

Thanks CopMike for organising this wonderful tradition!

Supersize Christmas tree:

800x599.jpg

I know, it's not much of an effort, but it really would be my ideal Christmas tree:

It's perfectly smooth (which means it doesn't need any decorations), it doesn't need looking after (because it's Lego), and of course, it can be taken apart and reassembled next year!
