Latest LDD installer has been removed from the official LDD page

Yeah, you heard that right, LDD is no longer available from the official sources. Downloading previous versions is not feasible, auto-download feature doesn't work because installer is not on the server!

I am tilted.

6th of October update: The installer is back on Lego servers.

That's strange... because I can download it just fine... and it's version 4.3.10 - which is the latest version (although it only says it's version 4.3)

Either LDD is officially Dead, or, and that's just my hopeful thinking, they're preparing an update? But no, I guess not, It's just ded. You should contact TLG's Customer Service, and ask them about it...

Or there might be a successor program to Lego Digital Designer in the works, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for it.

First of all, they wouldn't remove installer file for ldd on an official ldd page, even if they are prepping something new. Besides, auto-update feature will take care of fetching the latest installer anyway.

Secondly, can we not with the "ldd is dead" talk?

And thirdly, I shall write to the customer support.

Oops, I just realized I saved the picture of the download button! Now I also get the same server error that you get...

But I have a copy of the installer on my computer... I'm just having trouble uploading it to Bricksafe... (because it's so big)

@JopieK This news article was from January 2016, and LDD was updated twice with new parts after that announcement.

TLG shouldn't abandon LDD. Instead, they should integrate a user friendly 3d rendering software into it in my humble opinion.

Didn't they say that they just won't release any software updates? Like, brick palette updates are fine, but they will never add new funtionality, and will not tweak the atrocious UI for things like decal palette.

I have noticed that every single time something odd happens with LDD, the entirety of this forum starts whispering, "could this be... an update?" and it puzzles me as to why... the last couple of times LDD has been updated it has been completely without warning.... didn't they used to actually announce these things ahead of time?

That seems to work for me too, though I only partially downloaded the installer, as I don't need it...

I think someone is just screwing something up at the server in general, not specifically related to LDD. All files located at http://cache.lego.com/downloads/ don't work. Take a look.

Maybe they are changing the server they use... But they really should tell us about it first... (like Brickset did recently)

Works fine for me. Able to click on the Download button and receive the file. I'm the UK, if that makes any difference.

That's good, and I was right - Lego did move their downloads to a new server!

It was: http://cache.lego.com/downloads/ldd2.0/installer/setupLDD-PC-4_3_10.exe (still doesn't work)

And now it is: https://lc-www-live-s.legocdn.com/downloads/ldd2.0/installer/setupLDD-PC-4_3_10.exe (works fine)
