This is really cool, thanks for the videos showing how it's done. I don't thing I have any room left in mine for a Lego motor haha, the lights are such a nice touch!

Thank you. I've got a controller circuit all worked out to automate it but don't have the funds to get all the parts ordered and a PCB made yet. The lights are from Brickstuff. They have a complete kit specifically for the Falcon.

Very nice. Are you thinking of putting something else in there? Like the hatchway up top in episode five?

Thank you. I'd like to but I don't have the parts and resources to do so at this point.

Its not done yet obviously but it works like a charm.

Thanks a million @Jerry McGlade.  A dig into my parts bin will be underway shortly.

Of course, and sorry about all the other stuff. It is necessary to have the ship structurally strong and stable.

Have any of you tried to make the Millennium Falcon only have three legs like in episode four?

It has 5 in Episode IV and 7 in Episode V and VI. :)

Here’s a screenshot of MF landing in Cloud City:

MF-Episode-V-landing-gear.jpg

The scene model only had 3 legs, because they built only half in the first movie. :)

I know, but if you look at the Tatooine place, it only has three legs. simply just search "Millennium Falcon three legs" the third photo shows that. Actually, this video explains why it had three legs

https://abcnews.go.com/US/mystery-millennium-falcon-debate-landing-gear-led-entire/story?id=58589123

So actually it only had three legs in the Star Wars universe in episode four.

I prefer it with 5 though, three legs does make it look kinda unstable

I guess we’re saying the same thing. I count the single landing gears and you count the *groups* of landing gears. :)
Anyway, to answer to your question, I prefer the 5/7 much more. It makes the MF more “solid”.

It's weird that they didn't add the extra landing gears where there were existing holes, that would have made sense. Instead they shifted the holes to the sides and added large landing gear boxes.
There were also mistakes in the cockpit, the inside not matching the outside.

Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic, but I'm considering buying this set but I only have a small room (and budget for that matter since I'm a student) in a shared house and have determined the best way to display it would be vertically (facing either sideways or upward).

I was wondering if anyone has figured out a relatively simple way to pull this off? And is it simple enough to mod the removable panels so they aren't simply resting in place?

Hi Everyone,

I've just uploaded my engine MOD to Bricklink Studio Gallery:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=110014

I hope it will be helpful for someone.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family!  And THANK YOU for sharing this design.  I think the way you went is the most elegant looking solution.

I used the Efferman stand so I had to limit the landing gear to three.

Does anyone have a list of part numbers for this mod? In particular, I'm uncertain of axle rod sizes.

Efferman Stand

This is exactly the kind of thing I would be interested in, thank you! How does it and the Falcon hold up from displaying it like this, I'm assuming there's no warping or bowing pieces?

Also another question, how easy is it to add more interior space? I would love to have the sleeping quarters.

Thank you. I'm very satisfied with the final engine design. It seems like that it is very popular in Bricklink's Studio Gallery. It had more than 1500 views and 75 downloads in 1 week.

I have to mention, that it could't have been created without the inspiring work of @bricksmarlin@Lock and @HERMANtheSMASHER

Read through this thread from start to finish my friend. Find the ones you want to do. I.e. Lock has a few mods that are pretty well documented that will achieve exactly that.

Regarding the Efferman stand, how deep of a shelf will I need? I'm currently trying to decide if it would want to store it on top of my wardrobe, or put up a shelf specifically for it.
