75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017 MOD/MOC

Recommended Posts

@Lock  Thank you!  Thinking of trying out another variant YT setup for my next UCS build.  Of course, will also have to either build a hangar to display them all or get shelving down the road.

Going for broke on the Millennium Falcon, redoing the whole entire skeleton by seeing someone starting to do it on Eurobricks.

well, this is the main skeleton of the ship being dismantled. Going to put all the plates onto one pile while making a thinner more robust skeleton in the meantime.

So, I wanted to make my Falcon fly. Sadly, this was the best I could do (#humblebrag):

I'm not a fan of flying Lego objects, but I had a look to your website and I like it a lot. :)

Hi all!

I am a long time reader of this topic, i just joined so i can share my mod here alongside all the great ones here.

I still plan to order the parts for the engine mod but not sure yet of wich to apply for the grid.

On the original build i didn’t liked the way the removable panels were just hold by gravity and i wanted them to  be openable

Hi Everyone!

Amazing works!

Does anyone of you has the list for the parts and building instructions for these mods?

http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/uploads/gallery/album_6681/gallery_8754_6681_26633.jpg (i have the LXF file for this but a simple list and pdf would be nicer)

Thanks

Yes, it works and it's a cool idea. :)

In my case it's a bit complicated because MF is inside a table, so opening and closing panels takes a lot of time, but I like it.

@onderon You can import the LXF file in a bricklink.com wanted list and you'll get your bricks list (and, of course, you can directly order pieces). :)

I love it !
It might prove a bit hard to reproduce it based only on these pictures, would you have a lxf file something similar by any chance ?

Unfortunately i dont use lxf, just free building with the spare parts i have.

but i’ll take some detailled pictures of the hinge to give you an idea.

Its still work in progress and have to be refined!

The mandible door LXF is available here : http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310#target-id5670

Edit: My bad, i misread your request ^^ just import it to bricklink, there are no problematic parts.

Thanks, I didn't know it can be imported to bricklink!

I can't believe they're selling a plastic stand for 58 pounds, that's nuts...

yes :/ thats why i try to figure it out where could i get it cheaper. if i could get the measurements i could go to a local store and pay for them to cut it.

I think it cost me about £30 + p&p for the efferman stand (2 sellers I think) most pieces in black. Much more satisfying building the stand than ordering the clear plastic one. Plus you can reuse the pieces should you ever dismantle the falcon

That's okay thanks, but I would prefer an acrilic stand, so that's why I'd like to know if you bought it from the website I linked or from somewhere else.

Has anyone tried displaying this vertically in the wide fabrikor cabinet from IKEA?

dimensions are 81cm wide, 42cm deep and113cm high. I know I need 84cm, but with the extra depth over the needed 34cm, I may be able to set the stand a bit diagonally to get the 3cm I need. Thoughts?

I actually took measurements of my 75192 UCS which I have installed on Efferman's stand and then went to IKEA and measured the cabinet and unfortunatly the cabinet depth is OK but the width too a bit too short. If you could place the model vertical though in the other direction mandibles up it would work. If there is a stand that would support this orientation this cabinet would be fantastic display option. I have one in my home displaying my Domo-Kun collection.

I have an ai file somewhere at work, but i won’t be able to share it before next week or something like that.(but i will)

it would need some tweaking as its a little low (the falcon is just about one millimeter above the ground) but most of measurements are right, its stable yet and the modification to make it higher are minor.

It will need some adjustement with the thickness of acrylic too, cause i made it with 8mm and its not the cheapest.

8mm sound alright, thanks in advance!

here’s the link to the ai file i usedfor the stand.

if you use a digital router system be sure the router bit is set to is actual diameter (mine are said 3mm but are instead 2.85) otherwise you may have problem with the assembly.

Use the finest router bit you can for the inside angles, with a 3mm the jonction of the bottom is really tight and can’t be disassembled. You may want to make the holes of the bottom part a little longer (not wider, just longer) for an easier assembly.

If you use a laser cutter don’t worry about that it should fit perfect.

and remember with this stand the falcon is really low, however the correction to make it higher is not difficult if you know a little about illustrator.

I don’t have a lot of time at the moment but i’ll do those corrections later if your’re not in a hurry.
