I'm always a bit unsure about having a straight road plate end abruptly at a building, but your use of it in the residential area works nicely I think. As far as the road ending the way it does in our neighborhood - until we can brickbuild our roads and add some elevation changes to the whole city (planned but way down the road right now) we're stuck with the road plates we've got.
